Medals are for bragging rights only. They just are an arbitrary award for doing something imaginary in a game that probably took up too much of your life already. Yeah, a play a few here and there, but it's not my mission to get every point and every medal - my life is just a bit more well-rounded than that.
Besides, why would you need a reward for getting an award? Geez, this sounds like the type of thinking that gave us "oh, there are no losers - everyone is a winner, so everyone gets something" crap. Lets face it, they're just games, you spend your hours playing them, and you get to brag about the fact that you're the king of the mountain - until someone else comes along.
By the way, last time I looked, there are almost 40 games, over 350 medals, and more than 11,000 points that can be yours. And there are at least 35+ users that have 10,000 points or more. So, you are not alone. But none of you are getting a damn thing besides the bragging rights!
It must be nice to have that much free time on your hands, huh?
Just play the games for the sake of playing - if you want to be competitive, and be recognized for your achievements, try out for sports instead - that's better for you, anyway!
'Nuff said.
