Hey
I could not find any info on this. If a submitted toon, became blue (awesome score), what does it mean then? Is there a chance that the corresponding toon will be back on the lists again?
And what are the other factors of Newgrounds ranking and popularity? (besides quality entertainment, ofcourse)

The score determines the color. But once it's off the list of the 50 most recent submitted flash movies, the color doesn't have any more reference.
IIRC, Blue = 4.0 or higher score and Green = 3.0 or higher

What Ehwaz said, but the score required for a blue highlighting is 3.5, rather than four. Since people's votes on under-judgement Flashes are far higher than they used to be, I think that they should raise the bar, though.

Cool, but what then - it's just put down the dusty archives again? I just don't get the concept of popularity here on newgrounds. Like Egoraptor who exploded in popularity.

People like Egoraptor become famous because their submissions are great and people like them. But also, the best submissions win awards (such as daily first and weekly first), and are featured in the Frontpage and collections.

this is the only thing I hate about Newgrounds, once an indie or amateur flash has passed, it's likely never to be seen again, which is a shame. and it then becomes a bitch to find after if someone wants to see it again. if only there was a better search engine for these misplaced and lost animations.
