Okay so I'm interested in picking up a guitar and I was looking at the Epiphone goth Les Paul and I was wondering what's the difference between Epiphone and Gibson?
Is Epiphone a dumbed down version kinda like a Fender Squire is a dumbed down Stratocaster?
Also I want a Marshall amp but the Marshall Stack amps are waaayyy outta my price range and I was looking at the Marshall Mini-Stacks and I was wondering can I have more than 2 pedals plugged in? I have a system of about 6 pedals at once and I want to know if the amp could handle it.

Also, I've played a Gibson Les Paul but never played a Epiphone

Epiphone is pretty much just lower Gibson, but a hell of a lot cheaper. They also do a few more styles / shapes, but a lot are kinda ugly. My advice is to go for an Ibanez Art320 or 300. They sound pretty much the same as a high end epiphone, are much cheaper, more widely available, look better and are generally nice to play. My brother has an Epiphone custom black beauty, and my twin has an Ibanez Art320 and i'd definatley say that the Ibanez is so much nicer to play. A slimmer neck means its easier to move your hand up and down (excuse the innuendo).

As for the amp, i'm not too sure, all I can say is AVOID LINE 6!! I wasted £120 on a Line 6 Spider III 30watt amp, and i was so unbeliebaly dissapointed. I'd say save up for a bit and get a well known trusted brand.

gibson USED to be good [especially acoustics] but ender bought them awhile ago, so theyre just overpriced fenders riding on a good name...

but hes right in that it should be kinda cheap, if its too cheap or used, if the strings are too far from the fretboard due to warping, etc, it will be hard to play, frustrate you and youll give up

but if ya blow a bunch of money...then change ya mind, pss [ive played since i was 7...yeah, 7....]

id say buy one from 150-250 bucks, dont worry about names, you cant even play yet, your not a fine guitar collector, lol

The only Ibanez I want is the Jem 555 but then again ouuuucchhhh is what my bank account would say I might end up buying a new strat and make it look like Tom Morellos Soul Power strat I have most of the parts that he used on it I just need to buy the mirror pickguard and black headstock

well, the epiphone is not really set up so well (from production) but that can easy be fixed(it's only the nut)what do you mean by "goth" you mean the black beauty?
The sound is pretty similar but the epiphone does go out of tune faster than the gibson.if your on a budget stick with the epiphone but if ur willing to spend $3000 go with the gibson

From what I gather Epiphone makes cheaper versions of Gibson guitars (assembled in china, uses cheaper parts etc). So it's a question of what kind of quality build you want. It doesn't mean Epiphone makes bad quality quitars though, they're still up there.

Otherwise it doesn't really matter soundwise, if you're just going to play through filters and pedals and whatnot. All that matters is how comfortable they play for you in your hands really.

I don't really know much about Gibson / Epiphone.But..From what I have heard, Marshall solid state stacks suck, especially the MG series. If I were you, I would look into different amp brands.Marshall is just too expensive.

Black heart,Orange and Randall are some good alternatives.

Besides the price? The quality of the strings and woods used to make it...Remember that the better quality materials your guitar has, the better it will sound...

I'd buy the Gibson one...
