oxygen will keep you awake genius, in casinos they have vents that put oxygen into the rooms to keep people from getting tired and leaving

basically there is no "gas" that a civilian can get that will make then sleep, not pass out, and not have any side effects (accept drowsiness). There are plenty of OTC meds that you can get, but you may be hassled if you are under or at least look under 18. The cheapest way is to.... well exercise and make yourself tired, next is to get drunk ( a 2-liter of bartons is 7 bucks), and if nothing else Tylenol PM. But i assume that you are asking about gases so you can hide it... or you plan on using it on someone else......

Or with that much, like a corpse. The best thing I can think of that wouldn't give you a massive headache is chloroform. Pretty much eveything else will just give you a hangover from hell the next morning.

Carbon monoxide kind of makes you sleepy. But the effects are rather permanent.
