Yes. Though they probably differ from what you're used to. At the age scuzzfest is, that would the end of school leaving party, which, like he mentioned (at least when I was at school) is more like a glorified disco.

If you go on to further education, there are other proms, too, which are probably more along the lines of what you guys get up to... minus prom Queens, dancing, and all that stuff and more concentrated around food and booze. At least, that was my experience of it all.
