Without trying to be incredibly blunt, if you've got absolutely no idea where to start, you're probably not going to be able to get into music production very easily. Best thing for you would be to get the Fruityloops demo and look at some tutorials to see how well you do before investing in equipment and software.

How can you give advice when you just started a day ago, and were even too lazy to watch a vide about the basics? Please, don't bother giving advice in audio if you have no clue what you're talking about.

Lol, I'm new as a user to NG, but not to audio. This thread just made me laugh xD
How do you do anything in audio? How did you learn to walk? Learning audio is kind of like that, except once you learn to walk you have to learn to run, jump, kick, punch, and basically eventually be ninja and fly.
I think I'm about at the point where I'm learning to run up a wall and do a back flip... metaphorically of course.
But I started on Fruity Loops, I'm now on a ProTools LE 8 rig. I think FL is a great way to get into MIDI, but from what I can tell by reading these forums so far make sure you have the faintest idea of what the crap you're doing by taking some basic music theory lessons or else you'll probably get rejected by the audio nazis.
That is all.

I started waay back with Garage band 5 when my school was handing out free laptops that the state bought us. As far as I'm concerned, Garage band is a great place to start if you have no idea what to do. Most people can just pick it up and go with it, and if you spend some time exploring, it can be relatively powerful because of the built in, midi-like editor.
If you don't have a Macintosh, you might be tempted to go for a program like mixcraft, but it doesn't provide for the growth that garage band does. Instead, I'd go for the trial of Guitar pro. It's only for making midis, but it's really good for learning how different notes can work together, timing, and other basic composition skills.
Personally FL studio was too overwhelming for me to start out with, and it's always good to be able to save your work to an editable format, which you can't do with a trial of FL.
I'm not the best audio artist on newgrounds by far, but that's how I started. You've really got to practice though. I've been at it for maybe four years and I feel like my music has finally crossed the threshold from 'butterscotch, yo!' to 'I'm gettin' down to this!'

Well, to be a true musician you've got to start with trombone lessons. All musicians know how to play the trombone.

No no. You are mistaken. To be a true musician, you gotta know how to play the trumpet! I'm sure sorohanro would agree here! :P

If you were referring to me, I assure you I'm real, I promise. I don't have any other account. I'm waiting for my first track to be approved so I can upload more of my commercial music on here. I'm also working with a flash animator on here for their next project. I was going to help him with the power of three contest going on but since I'm new and the programmer doesn't have a trophy that ain't happening any more.
So I thought I'd just start posting to replies in the audio forum. :) No harm done, right?

Sorry Kaizer, but I just have to throw in my two cents and say that this ^^^ statement is utterly false. False in so many ways I can't even begin to describe.

Well, heres my 2 cents.
What I've been told by professionals like zircon. Go try out demos of different DAWs, FL, REAPER(Cheap non-commercial license, and powerful)
Look around to see if Cubase, Sonar, Logic, have demos. Reason does not. Find out whats best for your workflow, it will be much easier to have a DAW you work best in. So go out and find it.
FL was the only demo I tried, and I work great in it. Bought the Producers Edt after a few months, and love its free updates for life I get :D

Would you be so kind as to rate and review
