Ah! Which makes me admire him even more!

Well... At first during the race, I kinda liked him, but I thought that the hysteria factor was too high. However, now that we've seen him more "in action", i like him much more. He's got balls. I like obamas balls :)
Closing down guantanamo and improving the diplomatic relationships with the middle east is a GREAT step just there. I was kinda afraid that he'd just push everything in front of him all the time, never actually doing what he said he would. But he has already begun and I like what I see.
So I'd say a 1.5. He's great compared to most other leaders, but seen without comparing him to others, he's good.
You shouldn't believe that you have the right of free thinking, it's a threat to our democracy.

In addition, I'm angry at him for not releasing the Prisoner abuse photos. To be honest, his argument that it would probably make our work in Iraq harder has some merit to it, but from what I've heard the pictures contain, somebody has to be punished for all of this. It's practically atrocity level shit that went down that we're now covering up.

whats to like about what hes doing? this whole stimulus package is bullshit.. he didnt even give congress time to read it and it was only passed because right now our government is full of democrats. i dont blame america for their ignorance about all the crap obama is pulling. liberal media is making a bad impact on the world.

In my opinion they are all fuck ups. I don't think this country can run a country from one persons perspective or opinion. But either way we will always have a president. People make such a big deal when it come to elections but the question is, do you really think we are going to end up with someone who is not going to fuck up in the end? There are also a lot of critical people out there who find any reason to see a flaw in someone, especially the president. Obama is our president whether we like it or not so there is no reason for people to bitch about it.

i'm a 4 for two main reasons
1st He made the Patroit act stronger: Yes Kiddies, The goverment is now allowed to hack into your wifi to yes combat terrorism
2: His economic revial plan will never work, America will go so far in the red it will be stupid
but Those are the reasons i'm a 4 to him. I honestly think he has made some good changes: Allowing stem cell research, moving away from iraq etc
for these reasons I am very much a 1... but I honestly his economic revial is the main reason why I dislike him but I think his heart is in the right place and so I hoped to be proved wrong

I've been thinking lately, and I realize it's ever so slightly off topic, that public officials should have one term of office, but extended by a few years. It's my personal opinion this would really just force officials to focus more on issues and less on reelection. In addition to being able to more fully enact their plans. Any thoughts?

I would say 4. I don't approve of President Obama's policies like the bailout (we'll have to pay for it eventually) and his strategy in the Middle East (leave Iraq and allow the country to fall apart... meanwhile move into Afghanistan which is as equally a pointless war as Iraq). Plus, the Democratic near-supermajority will allow his every whim to go through.
But I wouldn't say he's the worst thing that could happen to this country, especially after Bush. That does not imply that he's good, however.

I'm pro-his white side but anti-his black side.
Nah but I'm glad we finally gave a black guy a chance to prove himself in office, even if he's half white he has a black appearance so he still represents for them.
Black people came over here with us when the first colonies in America started and have been here from the beginning just like us, it's their country just as much as ours. They helped us build it, even if it was by force. So it's about time we have one as our president.
Plus now blacks can't say "Oh we'll never see a black president, this country is still racist"! And if he fucks up we can say, see that's why.

I give him a 4.
I do not like his stances on EMBRYONIC stem cell research.
I do not like his views on Abortion. (I'm Pro-Life)
And I disagree with how he is handling the Economy "Crisis".
I believe he sets himself up to be a "messiah" of sorts to the people, using his promises of "change" to make them blindly follow him. I honestly don't see him getting re-elected.

Ok, I disagree with you about his handling of the economy, but I respect it. But for goodness sake, just give it up with the abortion crap. Roe v Wade will never be overturned, find other issues to fight about, the sooner you guys do that, the sooner the Republicans will be viable again.

I'm hijacking this thread:
from now on you have to say:
"I'm so Pro/Con Obama that I ___________"
fill in the blank, make it funny please.
It is ok to make fun of America. But if you make fun of any other country in a vague or joking way you get banned.

In our local paper today, there seems to be growing anger & disappointment with Obama from the Gay/Lesbian community who were behind him in his bid for Presidency ,on his failure to address or say anything about California's ruling against gay marriage & his failure to address the Gay/Lesbians in the military & the don't tell , don't ask policy .
Didn't take long for the bubble to break, seems The Propublica Website has discovered the Whitehouse site has deleted significant content detailing Obama's past remarks & Senatorial voting record on gay & lesbian issues .
I guess its the old... I got what I want & I don't need you folks any more...typical politician, nothing new to see here folks!
LOOK over here Obama's lunching in New York & going to a Broadway Show !

i am a 1.5 just because i don't think he pushed the republicans hard enough on stimulus more money should have been spent on infrastructure and less on long term things and he tried to skip negioting steps by putting tax cuts in already could have had his orginal amount in but made the reuplicans feel like they got something from it
the rest of the .5 lower (i was a def 1 during the campaign) is due to how slow he is moving with some of the progessive reforms this country needs desperetly UHC being the main one
