Attention span?
To me, it seems like women have better attentions spans than men.
I couldn't pay any attention in class today after about 20 minutes, however the girl sitting next to me had no problem taking notes for 4 hours straight...
What do you think?

Ok it depends on the image or the identity of the person. bothe male and female are the same in this matter. one lots of girls in class are texting, passing notes, or just talking and wont STFU. there are also girls who value education and want to do somthing with ther lifes and not become a beat up, abused housewife. boys well, lets say jocks cant pay attation to somthin that has the word education in the sentence. You get the average when you find the mean attention span of all guys. To get that, you must add the attention span of all men ever to have existed or who will exist (born, unborn, and dead) and you must divide by the total number.

In short, it's impossible to find the average for things such as attention span, intelligence, etc. Average is best left to things like crime rate, dropout rates, etc.

I think it varies, it depends on the individual as well as the subject. There a lot of reasons someone might not be able to pay attention. Not all guys have short attention spans, and many guys who have short attention spans have interest in other topics.

Boys--stereotypically of course--learn faster than girls and become bored, thus causing them to get side tracked. I myself am great at paying attention to academics but I couldn't give two shits about any extra curricular activity outside of the mandatory 8 hours I do per day in school. I guess it just depends on who you are. On average, of course, boys can't pay attention to anything unless it has tits and/or a gun.

I disagree. I think men can work out earlier on whether or not something is worth listening to, whereas women will listen forever without really absorbing anything.

I think it all depends on the guy (or gal, for that matter). I've seen some guys who have the attention spans of a parakeet and others who get so absorbed in something that you can literally wave your hand in their face and they won't budge. I've seen the same with girls.

I think it really just depends on the person and not the gender, really. Some days I can sit here for hours, and others I have to get up and do something productive.

Very ambiguous question. I think it has a lot to do with the people that you are comparing, what the subject is and any other factors in the field of play.

Factors such as:

1) Is the woman the man is talking to sexually attractive to him in any way?
2) Does the man need to eat / drink / pee really badly?
3) Is he going to prove his point by belittling his opponent or being a chauvinist?
4) Was he tricked into starting this conversation, say by bribery.

As such, I could talk to people for hours about sport and the unfairness of most rules systems in force, which would be incredibly boring for most women. I go to a boys only school, and a lot of times during my economics class there are people falling asleep. But I can doodle on a piece of paper and pay attention easily so I can manage by my classes with all the notes I need.
