Motown needs a comeback. 2009-05-20 20:17:11 Reply

It's been 50 years since the beginnings of Motown in '59, and we all know that The Temptations and Diana Ross are old. But we all loved the genre.

I know a good amount of us are tired of Rap and Hip-Hop, and I say they need a comeback. It's been too damn long since Motown was forgotten.

Who's with me?

What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.

I'm going to teach TehSlaphappy how to play the piano. The ball will go rolling form there.

The reason Black music used to have soul is because they were always being put down by the White Man. They needed that to give them spirit and inspiration. Now that we let em go around doin whatever they please, they have nothing to make music about except stupid shit like cars and money and getting bitches and whatnot.

Why is it that a man can't hold another man's scrotum in the palm of his hand (as an act of friendship) without risking being called a member of the homosexual community?

Emo needs a comeback... wait, that doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. Whats the kind of music that had the actual singing and instrument playing?

I can't deny that, but if you listened to a bit of The Temptations, their early stuff was actually about love. Same with like 90% of Motown.

Now that we let em go around doin whatever they please, they have nothing to make music about except stupid shit like cars and money and getting bitches and whatnot.

That's the exact reason why I made this thread, to drown out that horrid shit.

Motown has been gone for at least 30 something years, I think it sort of died along with disco and "We Are the World." New talent can't really compare to the classic old artists that defined the Motown sound, regardless of whether someone is committed to rekindling that old flame no one can live up to the expectations set by old Motown.
