Bastard Tetris

Have any of you played this game?

Essentially, it's a version of the classic Tetris game, except the programmers have put in a certain algorithm that causes it to provide the player with the least-usable block possible. You know when you're waiting for that straight line block to come down so you can clear four lines at once? Well in the original Tetris it was down to bad luck if you didn't get the block you needed, but in BasTet (Bastard Tetris) the game purposely makes sure it doesn't give you the one block you need.

I just played it for the second time and got three lines in the whole game. On the original Tetris I once got something like 140.

What I've noticed as well, is that after a few games on Bastard Tetris, I went to have a go on normal Tetris and found myself actually a lot sharper-minded while playing it because I kept expecting the game to provide me with hard-to-use blocks.

I may as well go play a game with a computer solved checkers or minesweeper that only has mines. Why play such a painful game?

I managed to clear a grand total of TWO lines, spread out across five seperate games...

That game really is a bastard...

I thought I was pretty good at tetris too :(

I played it. most of the pieces are the same one as before. and in the corner it teases you saying "not gonna give you this one"

I've been working on a certain strategy to try and get as many lines as possible. Just managed to get five in my last game.

Sorry to double post, but I've achieved the unthinkable; NINE LINES!

Allow me to share the strategy with y'all. You can see it partly displayed in the pic below.

Basically, you build a big wall at one side of the screen with as few gaps as possible. And then use as many flatter pieces as you can to build a kind of 'roof' over most of the screen, ideally leaving a two-block gap at one side. The game seems to read the two or three layers closest to the top of the screen, so if you've put a kind-of barrier at the top, it will send down blocks that you can actually use to your advantage underneath the 'roof'.

It's not as easy as it sounds but if I can get to ten lines by the end of tonight I will be a happy cat.
