Looking for a job right now, and I live in Michigan (which has the highest unemployment rate of any state) What have any of you guys done before to get the attention of prospective employers? I know the usual stuff like callback's and making your resume really pretty... but anyone have a really good secret strategy?

Make it seem like you actually want to work for the company, not that your just looking for whatever work you can get. (even if thats how it is) Point out any training or experience on your resume that would help you excel at that job. If you get an interview, be polite, make sure you're clean, dress nice, and show up a little early. Ask yourself why they should hire you over another person. Try to stand out, but in a good way.

Networking sounds stupid, but it works. Chill with your friends and start asking if they know of any jo openings. Don't do it bluntly though.

Not really a strategy to get a job, but y'know.
I used to collect baseball cards/collectibles as a kid, and in the late nineties my collection could've fetched me somewhere in the $50-75k range... now they are worth no more than the fucking paper they are printed on. *hulk anger*

Getting even a menial job can be difficult, and I'm talking from experience because I saw a lot of the jobs I applied for given instead to lesser-skilled people who don't know English.
I can tell you that first impressions count; you want to approach your potential employer looking smart and with a smile on your face. Be polite and ask if there are any jobs available (if you already know they are, say you're wanting to apply for whatever job it is). Have your CV or "Resume" handy and you should be ok. You might not get the job in the end but if you approach each possible job with that attitude it'll help you get a job sooner.

Networking doesn't sound stupid at all, and it is a major ability for those beginning to look for jobs.

I'm looking for a job too, but I don't think anybody would hire me with my mohawk...

True. Something I figure would help in getting a job is your appearance. You don't want to look sloppy at your job interview. One look at you, and they may not give you that application.
I'd say to be clean cut when looking for a job. Shave, wear something nice, and just look pretty. That should help in getting a job.

True that. Just this morning I bought a camera lens that was easily worth over $500 for just $200. Not that I'm going to sell it or anything though.
Your best bet would be to print off a bunch of resumes and just go around giving to places you would want to work. And make sure to ask everyone you know if there are any positions vacant where ever they work.

whip out your cock while your being interviewed, and if the boss doesnt like chickens then you should show him/her your penis huge... If they dont like your huge pen, then you should just give up
