Does anybody here use Vocaloid?
If not, then can you tell me if it works outside of Japan/the UK (for the English voices)?
Just curious.

No. When I heard about this software, I wanted to have it, but than I listened to several recordings made with it (you can find some on youtube), and I don't want it anymore. Everything sounds unbearably artificial, it seems impossible to put the accent on only those sounds that need it, and the whole sound is rather weird, unnatural. So... nice try Vocaloid. Maybe a next issue or an improved version will be better.

There is a patch now that makes the voices sound a little more lifelike...
But it works TOO well in Miku's case.

Actually, it's all up to how you use it. It's like any music program, your sounds can sound digital/mechanical, or they can sound lifelike. And I've heard some really lifelike Vocaloid songs.
As for the OP post, I do have Vocaloid. I have one of the female Vocaloids that was released in English, Miriam. Although it isn't Vocaloid 2 like they have it in Japan and with the most recent Miku songs, it still works well.

I have Vocaloid, and I'm still figuring out how I want to actually implement it into one of my songs. I'm getting there. Eventually.

You know its fucking hilarious how popular Miku is in japan. A month ago I was on a trip (for 3 weeks) there - and down in Akihabara she is everywhere. Songs featuring her vocals playing it stores, figurines, posters, animations, even dojinshi. It is SOFTWARE. But the character just kinda took off and is causing a general shitstorm of media and marketing around it.
You will lol, and you will like it.
