So, the final results are in, and the winners have been decided. Before I say who won, I'd like to thank a few people. First, thanks go out to EyeLovePoozy and JadeTheAssassin for their help judging. Without their support, I would never have been able to keep you all in line. :P. I'd also like to thank Tom for his help with prizes. He's being very generous, and I'm very happy for his help. Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who entered. I know you put your hearts and souls into your entries (or at least some of you did, the others were mass marketed products with no heart or soul created by The Man FIGHT THE MACHINE). I wish everyone could get a prize, but we can't have Newgrounds giving away everything, right?
Well, enough of me babbling. ON TO THE WINNERS!
For our Photoshop category, we've had several wonderful entries. Some of our close contenders include JaY11's Cooking Scorpion, which I believe the sequel is called "Cooking Scorpion: Kombat Kookoff" (or something like that), or Shakyjake's Volcano in Mordor, which I just made that title up because originality is not one of my strong suits. However, there has to be only one winner, and without further stalling for time, I will announce it here and now. Our winner for the Photoshop category is...
Phobotech! For his outstanding entry of Hungry Mothafuckin' Catarpillars, which further proves my paranoid belief that the books from our childhood are going to come to life one day and KILL US. I fear for my life.
Next, we have the Music competition! Oh my, there were some seriously great entries here. Ones that stick out in my mind are SolusLunes' Night of Longing, a wonderfully jazzy tune which makes me think of a jungle in the twilight. Like the Lion King but with more jazz romance. Another spectacular entry would be simon's Chapter V (III Pt. 2), which starts out very ambient and becomes a wonderfully rhythmic trance tune. Truly, the music of Newgrounds is reflected with these entries. Of course, out of all the entries, there is only one that can truly be called the winner. That entry is...
Casualty's You Fucked Your Dad Last Night! It's a very heavy and very angr-hey, wait a minute, no I didn't! It was YOUR dad that I fuc-um, I mean your MOM YEAH THATS RIGHT I'M HARDCORE LIKE THIS SONG.
This leaves our final category, the Writing! My goodness, there were some very good entries this year! Some of my favorite entries had to include Zerok's Cause of Death, a very disturbing story with an unusual plot twist (hard to describe without giving anything away ;) ). Let me say that it's not what you think. Another great story is TheThing's entry, Beauty and Frankenstein's Monster, a rather creepy story, to be honest. You're messed up, TheThing. Seriously. Haha, no, not really. But anyway, even though in the grand scheme of things there is no winner to writing, there is here. Our resident winner of the written word (say that three times fast) is...
WritersBlock! With his incredible entry, A Note For Elizabeth! You know, it actually reminded me of Van Helsing. I loved Van Helsing.
So here we are now at the end of the fourth installment of the Newgrounds Idol! Winners, please PM me with your name, address and t-shirt preferences (size and shirt color), so I can send the information out to Tom so you can get your prizes! Thank you all for attending, hope to see you guys again next time!
