If you like racing, I'd have to recommend Burnout Paradise. Criterion are keeping the game really well updated with all their downloadable packs and free updates.
Shooting games though, they're harder to decide on. I would say either Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare, and also Call of Duty : World at War are very good choices.

Ugh. Another one of you. I'm surprised you didn't put Gears on there as well just to keep in tone.
Best game for me would probably be Braid, for the simple fact it's a game that tests a different part of your brain.

Right, but I disagree with the 'horror' label. The Resident Evil series has always mantained a pleasent balance of synergizing action and horror together, but that tradition ended with RE5. What I mean is..... enemies with AK-47s?

I agree with you on that. Its just that the hype about Deadspace being scary, disappointed me. So I blew off steam. We all know that Viva Pinata is the scariest game of all time!
