So my main PC is completely fucked... Thanks to a lovely little update I installed last night...
Now it refuses to start, every time it boots up it goes onto system repair and sits there doing fuck all for the next couple of hours before restarting...

Do microsoft purposely make updates that fuck peoples computers up?... A couple of months ago an update completely deleted all my router settings so I had to re-do all that... Now its just completely killed my PC...
Do they actually bother testing the updates or do they just whack them out there with little or no thought about what they do to computers?...

When an update fucks up so bad that it stops your computer from working... Does that give you a case to sue microsoft or something?... I understand I can fix it but it means I've lost EVERYTHING on my PC...

I'm using Vista and it works completely fine. Maybe you should get some protection and stop downloading untrusted porn?

Yeah what this guy said.

also, if you're 101% sure it was Microsoft's fault, call them...If it was their fault, they have to fix it for free...

Vista is a big pile of balls, and all who defend it truly are bags of cocks.

Everyone knows that.

Great, a link to a biased, Mac-bashing website.

A biased no-apple website with links to pro-apple websites (engadget is mostly neutral), which say the same things.

1. Microsoft wouldn't do such a stupid thing.
2. An update CAN NOT delete your router settings
and
3. I've been using vista for 2 years now and nothing as stupid as what your saying has happened.

Is it a laptop or desktop? I had a very similar problem happen recently, but when I took it back to Best Buy (since I still have a warranty with them), they fixed it all up and it turned out to be a problem with my motherboard, nor related to Vista at all. Maybe it's just a hardware problem you're having?

Microsoft isn't out to get you.

You may think that's the case but ironically it isn't.

I personally don't like Vista at all. My girlfriend has Vista on her laptop and it's painful to see her sitting there while Vista fucks around with updates and restarts while I'm surfing freely on XP/Ubuntu.

If I have to buy a new computer in the future and can only find one with Vista on it, I'll format the hard drive and install Ubuntu over it, because even that's less stressful than Vista.

Similar here. I got mine about 5 1/2 months ago, and it runs great, it's supa fast, and does everything smoothly!

I gotta be honest; I was an XP fanboy. I absolutely hated anything Vista. I was completely miffed when I found out that the computer I could afford had Vista on it. I decided grudgingly that even though it has Vista, the computer's specs outweighed my OS hate.

I was very shocked and disturbed to find out that everything that people say that absolutely bashes Vista is something that THEY did. It loaded up fine, and setup was a breeze. I was online and playing STALKER: Clear Sky within 20 minutes.

I had 9 updates waiting for me today. I downloaded them and nothing happened. No updates have crashed my computer.

It's most likely something YOU did. Not Microsoft.

In the future computers will be using the 7 OS, not Vista which is less a pain in the neck for updates I've found.

If you pirated it, microsoft uses their updates to check for pirated stuff, then they give you an update that fucks your computer if they find out its pirated.

Its called Windows Genuine Advantage and they like to sneak it in with all their important updates.

Although I can't be arsed to check that out, I really hope that's true.
