What the hell is it about? Every time I try to grasp the main plot/ concept of it, the storyline changes. Does it take place in another dimension? For everyone that has seen the show, what do you think the main storyline is?

I think its the kind of show that you don't worry about the story and just appreciate the animation/randomness

there are a few reccurring things though that one guy who always gets caught at the beginning always escapes at the end

Superjail is a maximum security jail on a volcanic island. It is operated by The Warden, and maintained my Jared, Alice, and Jailbot. The inmates brutally kill each other in cleverly humorous and artistic ways.

It's not supposed to make any sense, it's violent fun for the whole family.

I have another question, you know those two "twin" guys that talk exactly the same? Are they inmates too because they like to mess up a lot of shit, like when they made jailbot kill everything

Yeah, The Twins are inmates. However, they are granted "free reign" within Superjail (meaning they can do whatever they want, because of their "Good behavior")

They are also aliens that monitor The Wardens actions. As seen in one episode, The Twins emperor, or whatever...arrests The Warden for going a little overboard with his rules in Superjail.

The majority of Superjail! is set inside the titular prison. Externally, Superjail is built inside a volcano which is itself located in a larger volcano. Internally, it seems to constitute its own reality, where the fabric of time and space is extremely fluid and changes at the whim of the Warden, but generally the episode begins with a linear story and builds up to a violent psychedelic splendor. Superjail's inmate population is stated by Jared to be in excess of 70,000, although the show's creators mention that the jail processes billions of inmates.

Each episode follows a similar pattern. The criminal Jacknife is brought to Superjail by Jailbot. During this time, or occasionally as a result of his arrival, one event or another will inspire the Warden to carry out some sort of crazy scheme, with which the Twins almost always interfere. The combination of these two factors inevitably leads to a spectacular psychedelic bloodbath when the prisoners are driven to violence. Many prisoners end up dying as a result, often in humorously horrific ways, while Jacknife escapes in the confusion only to be caught again in the intro to the next episode.

There isn't really a story. There's the warden who has a thing for the head guard, Alice. There's Jared, who's always nervous about something. There's those twins who are always causin' trouble. And there's the one mute criminal who gets caught at the beginning of every episode, and seems to escape at some point during every episode. Other than that, people die.

And that... is SuperJail.
