Not all rap is bad, the older stuff was great, but that doesn't mean there isn't anymore good rap. There are plenty of underground artist that are really great. Just gotta browse more for the good stuff.

We just have to wait it out. Eventually the teens who listened to rap will grow older and change music tastes or just have less influence on musical interests of others. I for one hope we go into a "Jazz" phase. Jazz music is awesome. If you want to help end the "rap" phase, you should just get other genres of music (Do jazz) and play it everywhere. Hopefully, some kid will hear that music and might experience a change in music they listen to. Then if that kid listens to that type of music it could start a chain reaction.
Also, you could try promoting concerts and events that are affiliated with your peculiar genre of music.

I for one want another jazz era. Jazz music is awesome and all the people from the age of jazz are awesome.

It's not that rap as a genre is bad, but it's that the kids of this day are easily entertained by the crappier rap. There are some rap artists that are really good. Just because kids today listen to crappy rap doesn't mean the entire genre of rap is also crap.

Listen to Deltron 3030 and realize why it's usually a dumb idea to declare an entire genre of music as being shitty.

Real rap, is like poetry if you listen, the music has more depth it has a story.

I read your posts, but I usually don't consider "It's bad because it sucks" to be a legitimate argument. I'll accept that you don't like the majority of rap music, but you can't say that something you've never heard is bad just because it can be placed in a category you don't like. I hate the majority of rap as well, yet am still willing to acknowledge that there are a bunch of talented rap artists out there who I listen to on a daily basis along with all my other music.

You could probably find a polka band that I would like if you tried hard enough. The only genre that can be factually declared to be terrible is clown rap.

Rap is no longer a phase why it never was.From your point of view I se that you've only heard of "gangster" rap,you know the ones that talk about hoes,guns,shooting,and shooting hoes with guns,not the fuck the police old school rap.It's almost like asking why most modern rock bands suck,it's because those rock bands are in a different genere.So you can either get used to it or just find something you like.
