I have a question and I'm wondering if any of you can answer it.

Will you only play as Roach or will you be able to play as somebody else like somebody from the US like in COD4 and WaW? Not including the special forces missions.

My only concern is that the weapons are too futuristic and unrecognizable to be considered "modern warfare".

CoD4's main appeal was that the weapons were exactly the same ones soldiers around the world operates.

The heart beat sensor and the gun in the demo was pretty impressive. I can tolerate that, but I still wish the majority of the guns are the good old ballistics spitting firearms we wield in the present.

It's pretty cool seeing the Steyr AUG in the game at least, it confirms that at the very minimum one gun from our time is there. I also think I saw some AK-47's outfitted with red dot sights in the demo. Also in Game Informers article, I saw a Brazillian rebel armed with a Dragunov.

I'm praying the M4A1 Carbine makes a return, as well as the legendary AK-47 and the MP5.

I also expect the futuristic HK416 to make an appearance, maybe also the cancelled XM8 and the SCAR rifles our special forces use today.

Anyways, Modern Warfare 2 is going to be a kickass game.

Quick question. I've yet to play Modern Warfare but i've played all the other callo f duty games though. Would you guys suggest renting cod4 rather than buying or the other way around. I guess i should be asking if it has alot of replay value and if the MP is good.

If you're in to playing online, buy it, it's amazing. If you just want to play the campaign, I'd probably suggest a rent. Actually, buying it is probably the best option, like ShadowWest said, it's fairly cheap these days.

Either way, play it before you get the sequel. You'll then recognize a few characters and you'll have better knowledge of the overall story of the game.

I'm not a person who likes to replay games but I'd say it's got some good reply value and MP wise, IT'S BLOODY AWESOME. No argument there.

I'd say buy it. For MP, you're going to be addicted to it wanting more. So if you rent it well... that addiction is going to force you to buy it. Am i right? So yes, buy it. Maybe you can find a good copy 2nd or something but i do believe the game is on special now for $40 Canadian at some places.

I bought my MW for $30 (AU) of eBay, so yes, they are quite cheap these days.

I dunno, 90 wing-wangs seems like too good of a deal for the lot. I mean, even shitty night vision goggles have to run you at least fifty bucks. All the Halo 3 legendary edition had were some extra DVDs and a shitty Master Chief helmet. At the very least I'd say the prestige box will run you $120.

Just seen a vid on Youtube with the 3 different versions that will be released. There will be the regular version, a steel book version which has a few extras, and then there's a prestige edition that comes with even more, including some (possibly rubbish) night vision goggles.
