If they don't contribute to society, wouldn't it be best to kill them off and feed them to Africans?

Yes. I couldn't possibly agree more. "He who shall not work shall not eat." By definition, then, the retired should starve to death, or more humanely, be euthanized.

Unless of course they can find work suitable to their age and experience (ie, no heavy lifting)

What if they have an investment portfolio that continues to generate income?

We could use their flailing wrinkly bodies in the next Vaseline commercial. Or watch them saturate their ripe skin with the latest line of dove beauty bars. Now thats getting your moneys worth out of television.

We should also eat prisoners and those who commit crimes. We spend millions so they can have HD TV's and 3 meals a day. Knowing you'd be eaten alive can be a inhibitor. Then we can move to the homeless and unemployed. They're a waste on resources.

Then we'll realise we could've put the homeless in the empty prisons so they can find work.

FLAWED LOGIC FOR THE WIN.

So, this is less about the ability of the elderly to contribute to the world economy and more about you not wanting to be touched by people with wrinkles. I fully encourage you to kill yourself before 30.

But then the Africans after they feed will breed and multiply.

So the people catagorized as "old" who bear personal value to you have passed and from thus is your philosophy. This is really less a social issue and more you whining about a set of people who interfere with your "me first' sensabilities.

My 80-year-old grandmother is a hell of a lot more productive than most people I know who aren't retired. From a utilitarian standpoint, killing her would make less sense than killing off the unemployed 35-year-old trailer trash who still lives with his parents and is in and out of jail.

Yeah but you can still use that 35 year old for sex.

Because that's murder, and we kind of have a law against that. We can use the soylent green when they're already dead.

Funny... when I read the topic title I read "should we kill people who retire"... not "can we legally kill people who retire"... guess the mind sees what it wants sometimes.
