Awesome, I'm a go geocaching this weekend. There aren't many nearby, so I'll have to go to the city this time, but I'll make sure to find something for you guys.

How legendary would it be to start a newgrounds geocaching team? D:

Today was the dreaded AP English test. My teachers had already told us to leave after the test were over, which was about 12:00 this afternoon. "Cool, I'd grab my buddy and go find some treasure early." At the end of the testing, I found my buddy, who then told me that he couldn't go with me today. But I didn't let that stop me!

The rain, on the other hand, did.

It was flooded where the cashe was suppose to be, so no treasure could be found today. :(

Maybe this weekend if the rain lets off, I'll go back out.

Not going to lie, this seems immensely entertaining.

I'll sign up and see if there are any in my immediate area. I'll post a pic. if I find it.

Why have I never heard of this before?

Our ride should be here in about ten minutes; this morning we're hitting a small segment of a rails-to-trails path (but I think the rails are still actually there) by Bayer's Lake, as indicated by my crappy red dot line. Once we finish the path we'll do the surrounding area if there's time.

Found 100% of the ones we looked for, but they were all really simple finds.

Might do some more tonight in the city if the weather isn't shit.

Alright I may as well be a slightly active user here.
Well I have yet to go geocaching mostly because of no GPS and the only one I would easily be able to find is 2 years old with 86 comments on finding it.

Alright, I'm on my way to find four caches in the city. I'm probably back in three hours or something. Gotta be careful though, most are hidden in crowded places. Wish me luck!

I failed. I couldn't even find one single cache. I probably spent like two hours to find them. I guess it's really too difficult if you don't have GPS. I will try again though.

Dang Zerok, you're loaded on geocaches. I've found pretty much every one that's within 15 minutes of where I live. I planted a couple around my area since there were only about 5 around me. Hopefully some people come and find them soon!

Gross.

Why don't you link to one of those caches (or post the GC code). I'll have a look at them and see if I can glean any extra hints out of the logs or something. Because I am a huge expert... *cough*

We did hit 300 finds last night though. Allowed us to add an achievement pin to the cache-pack (bookbag filled with caching delights).

It's true, my area is saturated like a mofo. I'll post a few screenies of some of the areas I want to do over the summer, and some crazy islands we have here in a few minutes.

About ~10km south of "home base." That nice little trail on the right hand side is just over a mile in length, to give you some perspective.

This is west of where I live.

The blue dotted line is mostly made up of "the five bridges" series. The cache furthest north here is about 18km west of home base. They mostly follow an old road, according to the descriptions.

The green arrows point to clusters that are pretty damn deep into the woods, according to the satellite view. I'm sure there are paths/footpaths that lead to them, but right now I'm not sure how to get at them. I'm more interested in the blue line series at this point.

The red arrow indicates caches along a trail know as the BLT trail. I may have mentioned this in my May 15th post about caching. Anyway, there are about 8 more caches off screen that essentially follow the #3 highway there. They're all pretty simple I think, except for some of the puzzle ones (possibly).

Going east now: Admiral's Loop. I've masterfully recreated the scale so you can get an idea of the spread here. It's apparently a very popular destination for hikers and cachers alike. We're saving this one for when Lauren returns in July since she really wants to do this one.

The cache that sits by the #7 at the bottom is 38.5 km northeast of home base, so this one would certainly require pre-planning plus a vehicle.

This is the tiny East Ironbound Island, about 42 km southwest of home base. A very active cacher in our area grew up here, so he populated the place with an usual amount of caches (currently 13) for an island of this size. People organize trips over there during the summer and we're hoping to be able to do it!

If you thought that was cool, check out McNutt's Island!

It's much bigger than Ironbound, and probably not as saturated per square kilometer, but still! This one is much further from home (~175 km) so if we ever get down here it would be a multiple day trip, with camping on island etc.

Not sure what the story is here, but the hides are placed by at least 3 different usernames. Clearly it was a coordinated effort!

Huh. Never heard of this before, but there's apparently two about a block from my house, and about 60 total within a few miles or so.

Fun. If it weren't raining I'd go have a look.

It's ok. Maybe I should just ask a friend to come with me. Or try to get my hands on one of those GPS thingies. I'll check out more caches next weekend.

Also, congratulations on 300 finds. That's a hell of a lot caches.

Thanks! It seems so, but some people have like 30,000.

!

Here's a fancy graph though. We all love stats.

I haven't updated it for the 300 yet.

Urgh, goddammit, I went to my local Burger King, and there was this geocache near the parking lot that I wanted to check out, and just as I was about to go search for it, somebody came out and went to go have a smoke right where the geocache was located. And it was a really ease geocache too. It was just in this small grassy area. Damn. It could've easily been my first find.

Rats. Stupid weather's been playing up lately; I can't get a damn thing found as long as it's like this.

I just know it's going to do its classic 'rain-sun-rain-sun-rain-sun' etc. crap for weeks now. Goddammit.

I want to hide a really devilish one here in the Cayman Islands, but I don't know what to do for it. In Halifax we have caches put out by a fellow named durango, and his are always evil to the core. I want something very tricky to find, because all my other ones here are fairly easy to find!
