I'm not sure if this would work or not.

On one hand, Texas is a big place with lots of people (and therefore could contain a lot of NGers). Hell, I'm willing to bet that Texas contains more than 300 members.

On the other hand, there are a lot of problems. Texas isn't like the UK or New England, where tens of millions of people are condensed within an area smaller than 1/2 to 3/4ths the size of Texas. There could be transportation problems (if the location is on the opposite side of the state, you're almost entirely screwed from the get-go if you're unable to drive) or money problems (you'd have to pay for more than gas if you live outside the city it's held in), and that's just off the top of my head.

On the other hand, most of this could be fixed with the right person/people organizing it. If it ends up happening, then I'm all for Houston being the meeting place.

I was just linked to this thread so... *bump*

If it's in Austin I will surely be there :D I don't have a car currently so anywhere else might be a little hard, unless someone picked me up haha.

Public transportation ftw.

If I had no sense of gnawing shame, I would be there.

But alas.

I also vote for Austin, it's a central location that people from all around the state could reach.

Well looks like lots of us are in Houston. I do want BlueHippo there, so anyone willing to deal with a mod for a long road trip?

But really we need to pick a place to congregate.

I could maybe do San Antonio as I know someone who might drive me down there. Probably couldn't do Houston though.

If we did San Antonio we could do Six Flags or something, I haven't been there in ages.. only been to that one once.

I do think we could have some fun in Austin though ;D

I'm in favor of both Austin, San Antonio (because it isn't too far from Austin), and Houston (because I have relatives that lives in between Austin and Houston in a town called Brenham). I still like to do Austin as my top choice, and San Antonio would be the next one (six flags for the win!).

I think it'll be a great idea. I live in Oklahoma, so next year when I can drive, if there's another one, I'll certainly go. I'll bring a couple of my friends too.

Interesting stuff.

I have one idea we could do IF we were to do it in Austin (which most likely will be in Austin), why don't we go to a water park called Volente Beach? It's not a very huge water park, but it got a few rides and Lake Travis is right there where we can just swim if we want to.

I say in the central area, where everyone could make an even trip there. Too bad i live in Killeen, over by Fort Hood/Coppers Cove/Nolanville. Dont really feel like driving anywhere.

Then what would we do there then? Anyway sense it looks like there's still some life in this; I know there is a decent amount of us who are willing now.

Everyone who has contacted me over pm send one so I get the list right. If this follows through we might really do this.

I don't think I could go no matter how close it is... but I think we should have it in Dallas or Austin because they are both popular cities that Bands and such tour in plus it's in central Texas so it would be a fair distance for all the Texans.

I would consider coming; I live near Dallas. I was just thinking that I'd forget about meetups until I'm 18 next year but I could maybe come to this one... let's see if this comes together!

I don't have a preference for location, but Houston is probably not a good idea because it does not have a central location. Austin or San Antonio are more central, and Dallas may even be a good idea if this gets big and folks from other states want to come- Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma.

Good luck.

I've been to this place in Austin called Tek Republik. It's basically a LAN place where you pay for certain amount of hours and you play a ton of games with people (like CoD4, Team Fortress 2, Halo, Rock Band 2, and countless of others).

We could reserve a certain amount of computers for us to have a huge gaming party.
