What Jazz peice do i play?

hey guys, Ive got an exam at the end of this year and i was wondrin if anyone has any suggestions for a piece to play for it? It is an ensemble piece and it has to have 'soloistic properties' in other words, we all have to have the melody at some point, or solos. The instruments that i can use for this are a violin(its a bit weird i know but hey) bari sax, alto sax, trombone, trumpet, piano and i can get drums and a bass(electric and double variety) hopefully.

Try to get something simple but with a good arrangement, better than instrument solos in this situation would be solos for group of instruments (like saxes vs. rhythm section, 4x4) or brass stab riffs over melody played by more melodic instruments (that violin or sax section).

Should be an original composition ? should be an original arrangement ? what kind of exam is this ? what is the level of the musicians involved ?
