I don't see why people think Brawl Taunts so bad, and I got nothin against you, kirbopher, or anyone else involved in Brawl taunts, and I don't see why anyone does, you are good at what you do. I like Brawl Funnies. Sure some weren't so great, but others I thought were hilarious. That one by Rtil was amazing and I would be honored if someone made a flash like that about me.

OP is an idiot for not realizing that this was meant to be a collaborative effort against Brawl Taunts. Rtil takes pride in being a pissing other people off, as well as having a sarcastic response ready for anything you say. He just happens to be very talented.

I understood perfectly that this was a collaborative effort about Brawl Taunts and their dislike for it. My annoyance was based on Rtil's animation itself and how it just seemed out of place. At the time i wrote the original post, i thought it was because the high quality of Rtil's animation was brought down by being in that collab, that his effort would go largely unforgotten and be pretty wasted in my point of view.

Having watched it today however, i realize what the actual problem is. While many of the animations in Brawl Funnies poke fun about Brawl Taunts or make a message, Rina-chan and the Brawl Boys seemingly has NONE. There's no remarks about Kirbopher's attitude towards Brawl Taunts as seen in the Metaphor123 skit, or the idea that Kirbopher was sacrificing his self respect to attain popularity as seen in the air balloon skit. There's seemingly no message in Rtil's animation at all. It's Rina-chan on a Friday night, going to a club and seducing Captain Falcon. I can't figure out what the message is in his animation.

It simply doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the collab. It doesn't work as part of the collab not because of the quality, but because it doesn't seem to follow the point of the collab.

I restate my original opinion. It should have been released as it's own flash and my opinion of Rtil has suffered for it, not that it matters, Rtil strikes me as one of those people who doesn't care about the opinion of others, so it's quite likely he'll never listen to any form of criticism no matter how legitimate or helpful it's trying to be. It's good for him he has a lot of natural talent for drawing and animating because i honestly don't think it will ever improve beyond what it is now.

Kirbopher has made remarks outside of the Brawl Taunts flashes that are the basis of those pieces. Why would you lose respect for him after he sacrificed his potential to cash in on high scores and possible monthly cash prizes for his piece so he could make a statement and a stand with his peers and friends, especially when the piece in question required a great deal of effort and care? Why does it matter who he associates his work with? He's using his talents for his own ends, and he's not doing it for other people, he does it for himself and that deserves respect. If his willingness to give up popularity and take this much fire from angry fans of Brawl Taunts doesn't make you appreciate him, then you should start seeing things from his point of view, and look at his motives more closely.

Just a quick question, who is the author of Rina-chan and the Brawl Boyz? I wish there was names on each segment. It is very hard to review a collab otherwise.

Newgrounds isn't run by Nazi's, we don't judge an artist based on his older flash or his opinion's on other people's flashes.

It's not so much about his motives, it's more a sense of injustice about how his talent could be going unrecognized due to it's association with the other works. I'm all for not selling out, but you can still have a wide audience and do what you want with your talent without going down the "Selling out" route. He definitely does deserve respect for submitting it with the other works but... i dunno.

I guessed i'm just more miffed as i view the whole thing as squandered talent and time. It's a collab moaning about a flash on a website. Rather than make a protest about the general audience's annoying love of Brawl Taunts and it's ilk, perhaps he should've made an alternative to it, some original content that would've wowed everyone for what it was and proving that original works can succeed on this site rather than participate in a protest collab.

I can understand your point Luxury, but i'm just too swayed in my opinion that his talent is better spent making a decent alternative to the crap on Newgrounds that he and his fellow collaborators are angry about.

I'm not judging him based on his older flash, and I think that in this case it may be appropriate to judge the work in question with his opinions in mind because his opinion and views are what is driving the flash we're all talking about.

Not on the ones like Brawl Funnies. It has under a 2.2. Same goes for Metal Gear Funnies. His good scores are for his solo work, not his collaborations.

I never said he was, I just said I admired his integrity when it comes to putting hard work into a collab even though his piece would be "stuck" with everyone else's work.
