Can you get herpies from a drink?

I was at a party and I drank from the wrong can. The beverage was flat and very very flat. It had been sitting for awhile. The owner had pourn Waaaaaaaay to much Twang into it to make it better but only to worsen it. Well After I took a gulp Some random person drank some too, the owner then said it was his and now I have herpies. He walked off and The other guy who also drank asked if I was scared, and I had told him I was nervous. He then yelled "He has herpies cause I gave them too him" and he didnt really seem scared. and I knew the guy wasn't doing anything oral with the other So I'm pretty sure they where just "fucking with me".

Anyway, I came home and brushed my teeth and rubbed soap over my lips (Feeble attempt I know).

Would it be very possible too catch herpies through this manner?

The can was bone dry around the edges. No visable Saliva. Plus I wiped it down.

Baha, I have a slight case of OCD, so every time I go to sip a can, even if I had just previously sipped it, I HAVE to wipe it down with my shirt.
If he did have herpes (which I can guarentee he didn't) theres only a small chance you got it.

That's disgusting. Little'uns do that and it's more unhygenic that not doing it. If you are really concerned, look at geting a hanky or pack or throw away tissues, rather than saturating your shirt with mouth germ spittle mingled with body sweat and skin flakes.

Now that's reliable, since herpes is definitely not VIRAL in nature.

But it is possible if the other person has a cold sore at the moment and the contact with the glass/cup has been firm enough.

But it's not that big a deal, it's only herpes.

I understand what OCD is, I have just usually found with people I know that they are compulsive about maintaining routine, tidiness and cleanliness. Not about wiping fluids onto your clothes, which then in turn gets where you put your mouth. Just sayin' is all.
