Think back to what inspired you before you had writer's block. Use that to inspire you now.

Write a story about something you loved being taken from you, for no reason other than directly causing you pain. It's old and cliche, but no one ever seems to tire of hearing it. :D

what i usually do is watch comedy or whatever type of shit u write and use that as a spring board, as inspiration.. like look at how they did the comedy and try to apply it to your own.. now im not saying to go steal styles or jokes but, sometimes for me i can just watch an anime, laugh my ass off at how messed up it is, and get ideas for stuff..

basically ill give u an example, i was watching naruto the other day and i decided i could write something with a badass guy that nobody knows about, an annoying guy that nobody likes but is loveable, and a girl that has no chance with anyone she likes.. seem familiar?

unless you use the exact same personalities and storyline, nobody will know that you use characters as a springboard to create your own.. or like, take a random character from like 20 different shows and use it as a springboard

another thing, work on character development.. like watch ANYthing on tv and see how they progress the story, pause it at any point and think "ok, where would II decide to go from here?" and most of the time, if your a good writer, you can figure out the plot early on. i figured out the plot AND ending to the movie fight club a half hour into the movie i got goose bumps from figuring it out

but yeah, develop a good sense of writing by seeing other pieces of work, whether drama, or comedy, or action. doesnt really matter

i really dont know if this will help or not but yeah im kinda just rambling on about nothing, its almost 2:30 in the morning where i live and i took some sleep aid medicine about an hour ago and its really kicking in. sooo if i said anything that pisses anyone off, im sorry haha

my main point is dont steal characters or plots, but use others as springboards, and it just writes itself

I never get writer's block because I write without thinking about the final result. I just write. This is my first step in my writing process.

So, Step 1: Vomit ideas onto page
Step 2: Revise, and further develop thoughts while attempting to make the story consumable.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 100 times

I'd usually either go out for a walk while listening to music relevent to the story or swim lanes in a pool

Both seemed to work for me:D

and people wonder why all the crap seems the same these days. also just a word of advice, if you are going to steal your inspiration for characters from somewhere, dont take them from animes. unless you want them to be massively one-dimensional and cliche.

Try watching something that could inspire you. Do something out of the norm. That might help

hahha ok i shoulda told you it only works in some cases.. cause i was writing an anime that makes fun of how messed up anime is and i made it as cliche as possible and i WANT it to be cheesy like evey other anime.. normally, doesnt work though, but yeah, the anime was just an example, you can look at how ANY piece of writing presents jokes or plot and see where YOU would go from there and i dunno, just look at EVERYTHING from a writer's point of view
