Yeah, if you get busted for drugs in most other sports, you're looking at a sentence of 12-18 months out of the sport and if you get caught after that, you'll be taking even more of a hit.
I think MLB really needs to look into stiffer penalties. Maybe the first offense is the 100-game suspension, the second offense is two years out of the league, and the third offense remains the same.
Well, make it up to a full season. 162 games, plus the postseason, regardless of when in the season you are (Manny wouldn't miss the playoffs now if he got stung for 100 games, would he?) Then 2 years and then out for good.
At the end of the day, he should have checked it out better, before he took the drugs.
