Reason people hate it is because they don't know what it really is. Sure there's even aspects of it I find disturbing and weird, though there are others I really rather enjoy.

There are kinds of people I hate in the world, doesn't mean I hate people.

One of my best buddies is a full blown furry. I used to hate it, but it grows on you if you keep an open mind. Im now ok with it. Actually... I think some kinds of furry porn is hot. No vore, or shitting, that IS fucked up.

I never hated furries but i always thought they looked creepy.

Here is some data that proves that furries are not all gay, and are not all about sex. Though they feel that everyone thinks they are (no surprise)

OK, im not a pedo myself, but why do people hate them so much? I mean, come on. Whats so wrong. Everybody hates pedos because they're weird,creepy, or sick. And I ask again, why do you people hate pedos?

Because not only do they come up as...... well, simply, sick fucks, but most of the ones I've seen rub the fact they're a furfag in other peoples' faces (while insulting them for no reason-- even if they said nothing).

What I'm saying is that not only can they be fucked up-- they can push the fact they're furry into other peoples' faces.

Because kids aren't of legal age to give consent to pedophiles. Furry sex usually involved 2 consenting adults...in fursuits.

I don't like or dislike furries....I just don't like the majority of them I've met. Despite whatever survey data there is, the fact is most people who wave the furry banner are usually weird, insane, gay and all about sex.

There are plenty of sane people who are interested in the furry side of life..but because so many others give the term a bad name, they usually just stay to themselves. Sort of like how not all gay men wear tight leather pants and run around screaming about rainbows. But the quiet, normal ones just stay at home and are happy doing their own thing.

Such is life. People think Chinese people can't drive just like people think furries are sick freaks. Stereotypes are annoying.

Why do people think this? Okay let me clear something up.

* Fursuits are FUCKING EXPENSIVE. Some run up to thousands of dollars. Furries are poor, usually teenagers or college students and most cannot afford them, and do not have the skills to make them.

* Since they are so expensive, do you really think people would mess them up having sex? And can be to write about as well. Whilst I usually do human characters, I do find anthros have more to describe about them because they are so different. This allows better word plays for me in stories, so sometimes I might include one if it's a fantasy based (or obviously if it's a fanfiction in which the universe contains anthros). I agree that most people tend to confuse Furry with Beastiality - some guy said furries were 'yiffs' last night and had no idea what the hell he was saying. If people don't know enough about something, they really should comment on it.

Most furries are normal people who have an interest with anthros, either asthetically or sexually. It appeals to people for different reasons and has many layers. Whilst I personally find fursuits a tad creepy, I'm not going to bag someone if that's what they like because such a small aspect shouldn't define my opinion on the person as a whole. It's ignorance that has people being homophobic, rascists, bigots, etc. There are few universal evils and universal goods because it's really all based on perception. The sooner we realise this the better the world will be (although the likleyhood of this happening...).

I blame CSI. I swear, that episode made me ill. And up until that point, I had never heard of furries. That episode was probably the worst advertising the furry lifestyle could have had.
