I recall a few MGS bosses that required stealth (as in the series, not the first game). Still, I don't consider it a pure stealth game just because it doesn't really discourage you to go blasting all the way through.

Swallow your sugar pills, inject your saline, breath in some hydroxide mist and have a nice day.

No, it's just a poorly designed game with bad gameplay elements that can hardly be construed as stealth.

Hitman and Tenchu are properly designed games that not only encourage proper stealth, but also don't discourage your ability to "blast through" the levels.

Also yeah totally Revolver Ocelot and Psycho Mantis totally needed stealth to beat them.

Easily scared over one of the worst games to ever be called a stealth game not being mentioned in a thread about the best stealth games?

Shit, even Beyond Good & Evil and Psi Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy are better stealth games than MGS.

I don´t think you should be able to "blast through" the levels in a stealth game. Because that kind of makes it.. Not stealth.
I liked how it was in Manhunt. You were just able to take one enemy in melee combat at a time, but if there was more than that you were fucking screwed.

Believe it or not...

Crysis is actually my favorite stealth game. In it's nature, you're given the option to take two approaches to most objectives: Rambo or Bond.

I find sneaking around to be a much better strategy. Even when you have the ability to temporarily cloaked, the ability to decipher and perform orchestrated kills to avoid detection is no easy task. Really, people anti-hype the game because their computer can't run it, but Crysis doesn't need to be run at very high for it to be a great play.

I fixed your list for you, it looks better now.

Really? looks worse?

Anyway stealth games dont seem to be a very popular genre. But Im not surprised seen as stealth is a pretty sucky genre. "You have to sneak behind enemy lines where there will be 100 to 10000 enemys blocking your way and the only way to get past them is to not kill them and sneak past". Pretty shit.

You´re a retard. The point of stealth games is that they´re based on suspense rather than action. Also, i´ve never played a stealth game where you don´t kill anyone.

Fallout 3 may not be a true stealth game, but I consider it to have rather good stealth elements.

seriously everyone's ripping on mgs? the reason it lets you have the option of just blasting your way through is because there are some ppl that just like to do that. and if you do think it requires no stealth then you must have been playing on easy. try playing extreme. going into stealth just makes it easier to beat the game.
