4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsThere were three Mario Parties on the Nintendo 64, four on the Gamecube, one on the GBA, one on the DS, and one on the Wii. With only one game this generation, which is now past half-way done, you can tell Nintendo knows how making more won't do much. But I still won't doubt a Mario Party 9 to come in the next couple years.
So here, we figure out how to make the next Mario Party a game to beat the rest and make up for all the repetitiveness. Perhaps, making a different game instead of the same basis? Perhaps they should perfect everything?
I have Mario Party 8. I hate how the average minigame is just a minute long, and some only being a few seconds long. It's a waste of programming and effort for every single one. I say they should bring back some good ones from previous games. I would love to see more shooting minigames making use of Wii controls. The only decent ones were a target shooting game and going through a haunted house blasting the hell out of packs of boos.
All I would change about the basic formula is make it less focused on luck. First, taking away candy/orbs. They ruin the game where some luckyass gets one that takes him directly to the star whenever he wants. I would also make some way to reward the guy who's winning all the games and getting the coins. I always end up with the most coins, but never get to a star to use them. Put in spots where some guy will take you to the star for 50 coins. Not a spot you land on, but a spot you pass by.
One thing they should slip into the next game is online play. But wait, no four people in different households will play for two hours together. So if somebody leaves, they can be replaced with an AI character. Another option is for the remaining players to stop the game and the game will save everybody's data in somewhere as a "memory". If these guys ever get together again, than they can go back to where they left off. We should be able to keep at least 10 of these memories stored instead of just one. You can also of course delete these memories, but only one of these guys need to keep their memory for them to play together again. In words, it sounds confusing, but it wouldn't be in the game.
You see, some of us, such as myself, don't have people over to play games, so online play would give much more reason to get the next Mario Party.
There's not much else I'd do to the next game, but I'd probably give a lot of good things for you to purchase with the points you get after each game. New minigames, new characters and such.
So what would YOU guys do?

....or we could end the series.

It's going to come back no matter what.

Mario Party
Mario Party 2
Mario Party 3
Mario Party 7
Mario Party 8
Are the only good ones of the series. My favorites are Mario Party 2, 3, and 7.
9 has to be really good, I still haven't seen anything top 3 yet.

Definitely. In my opinion, online play would be the best feature. In fact, it may be the thing that will save the Mario Party series.
I like your idea of replacing people who leave with AI, and also the idea of a save feature. What I think would help greatly in organizing online games would be a lobby. You know, a place for gamers to meet where they can get together and start a game. A lobby would make starting online games easier IMO.

Also I like that one from Mario party where you have to jump on the mushroom according to the color flag toad holds up.
I would rather get sonic shuffle 2; than play the new installment of mario party.

A lobby is a great idea that would make the online stand up to the online games of other consoles. But that would include people talking, and then there would be harassment. It just won't happen with Nintendo even though the other companies do it.
Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB. Why do people still they that they can sue Nintendo and still win? It's pathetic, and yet it will scare Nintendo into never having anything like it again.

Oh yes, these were my two favorites as a kid when my friend brought over Mario Party 1.

Do you want a hot coffee?
Well,i have Mario Party 4.its pretty fun.i have played it on my own in the past, but its more fun with freinds.i haven't played any of the other Mario Party games, but i'd like to get my hands on that one with the microphone.(even if some people said it was crap,i'd like to see for myself.)
Only ever played Marip Party 4 and 5. Both weren't bad games but nothing spectacualr. There didn't seem to be much difference between the two either.
They were pretty fun to play in multiplayer but 4 player offline was a rarity for me, and still is now.
