There are more than enough reasons to kill deer.
true up here in Minnesota/ North Dakota they ruin crops and go into residential zones and Reproduce like fucking crazy (the Average Doe here births 4-6 calfs) so they give us plenty of tags due to overpopulation and complaining farmers.

yeah .308 is great especially my Remington and I use rounds with high grain. I can kill shot deer up to 800Ms.
then make sweet succulent Deer Jerky and deer steaks

Yeah its pretty much the same deal over here in Wisconsin. They reproduce so quickly that pretty much everybody goes home happy in season.

What are your specifics? I use 150gr rounds with pretty damn good accuracy.
And yeah, I cant get enough of deer jerky.

I highly doubt people kill deer for these reasons. I'm pretty sure that it's done for the sake of having fun.

Which is wrong why?
So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled.

Hardly here in minnesota we have our white tail deer population out of control due to their high birth rates and they ruin crops. So every hunting season they hand tags out like candy to get under control plus they have programs for donating meat and skins. Plus alot people do it to feed their famillies, i personally have 90 pounds of deer meat in a freezer
So people font do it for mindless killing.

Of course people kill deer for those reasons! My uncles all hunt, and they bring home venison to eat. They all know how much damage deer can do, as my cousin was almost killed when she ran into a deer. They have almost ZERO natural predators here in northern Virginia. In fact, the only place deer have natural predators in VA is near the mountains, and by West Virginia. My friend makes deer jerky because he loves it. I've talked to several organic vegetable farmers who wish it was legal to sell venison, as deer love to destroy their crops, fences, fertile soil, and even their parked cars!

lol I hit a deer once and my old man clipped one. I was in a truck with a grill guard so no damage was done I called the DNR to see if I could take it home and gave me the okay. the one my old man clipped kept going like a trooper.
I've owned my Para Ordinance .45 ACP "GI Expert" for about a year now, during which time I've fired about 150 rounds with it. I've fired quite a few different handguns, and other than a certain Walther handgun that I don't remember the name of, it's definitely my overall favorite handgun.
A few days ago I got to go shooting with my friend and his family. His dad is ex-military, and his three older brothers are all in the Special Forces, so there were a lot of guns to shoot. I brought mine of course, and one of my friend's brothers showed me how to take it apart. Tonight I disassembled and cleaned it myself for the first time, and successfully reassembled it. I feel a lot more comfortable with it after doing so.
I love guns.
So what do you guys think of the 6.5 Grendel? It seems to be one of the best precision rifle rounds for an AR setup, and from what I have seen, it is a lot less expensive than some other options.
Although it is more expensive than the 7.62x51, it's ballistics are better. It flies straighter, and holds farther down range. It seems like a marksman's dream round, but I don't know. I have read that it eats up barrels though, so thats another thing to think about.

the cost of 7.62 ammo is very discerning. all I can find right now are 20r boxes for 20-23 USD.

ANYWHO, any thoughts on that 6.5 Grendel round I mentioned earlier?

I heard that they were going to make it a alternative to 5.56 for US military use (or make the firearms able to use both 6.5 and 5.56 by making the chamber dual gauged)

but thats all Ive heard of Grendal.

I've been a fan of the 6.5 Grendel ever since I first heard of it back in 06, and I still can't believe it's not a household name! IMO it's the best middleground between the .223 and .308, and I'd even go so far as to say that it surpasses it's 6.8 SPC counterpart for its intended purpose as a true and competent intermediate cartridge.
One drawback is that it's chubby by design in order to fit in a standard AR magazine well. Thus, a 6.5 magazine won't carry as many rounds as a 5.56 magazine will, due to the girth of the casing. I wish there was a larger consumer demand for it though - it's not nearly as prevalent as I'd like it to be.

I agree. but most of the time people just know the conventional rounds.

Yeah. I think it would be nice to see a lightweight 6.5 bolt-action. It has been something that was tickling my brain recently.

I don't know where you would find those I always say just stick with high performance .308/7.62MM but thats just me.

6.5 has greater accuracy at longer ranges, and a tighter arc. I would love that in a bolt action, and Lapua is too damn expensive for my tastes. I really wanted the 98 Bravo until I saw the price of that round.

I knew a guy who used .227 and he said it shot straight and had tight grouping on his hunting rifle. though I prefer 30-30 or .308 are my calibers of choice on a rifle.
