Lol, I've been working at a hotel for a couple months slinging drinks. I'm still at that stage where I'd prefer people to order four bottles of beer over a Jager bomb or some bullshit cocktail like Sourpuss and iced tea or a marijuana milkshake. SupJD is another bartender who gave me some really helpful tips on what to expect.
How are the patrons and the staff so far?
The other bartenders and the staff are what make or break the job, lucky for me we're like one big family and communicate well. One waitress has been at the hotel for about 12 years, I usually crack jokes about her height and call her old, she's just a tiny little thing who went RVing for a month with her husband, she's only 35 or so.
Bartending is great though. You get to see all of your friends and have a great time, and you get paid really well for it. Even though it's looked down upon, I think it's one of the most honest jobs out there, the harder you work the more you get paid; Unlike some job where you get paid by the hour and if you take 30 minutes longer because you're lazy then you get paid more.
What does a standard drink go for anyways?
And while you're at it make me a Bahama Mama, those are fucking delicious.
