Best Rpg Ever

I had made this topic on general, sorry folks for the mistake. Re-posting it here.

I'm a big fan of RPGs, so I've played quite a lot of them (FFs 1 to 13, almost every MMORPG, and others).
So I'm starting a topic to ask you NG - what's the very best RPG you've ever played? I don't care about graphics - what should count is epicness and, most important, FUN. Also, no MMORPGs, as they have a system to make you level up quite slowly (precisely to make you play longer), so of course they don't count.

Also, if the game is free to download, please post the link to it!

The best one I've ever played was definitely Laxius Power. It's so fuckin epic, I've played almost 400 hours already and haven't got to the end... And this is only the first part, there are other two!

Unfortunately, the company was sold to another one, that ripped the game and made some very bad changes (for instance, it only takes 80 hours to finish, and half the quests have been ripped. Also, the characters have been changed.)

Luckily I found a site that has the old one, but the site is in Portuguese - sorry for the inconvenience. All you gotta do is click in "Faça o download" and wait for it to start.

Btw, the old version was free to download, and the new also is, so I can't see why would this download be illegal at all. Download here

I just looked this game up at the official website. So the download link they have for the first game, isn't the same one that you're talking about?

I'm not sure if you mean the new company made sequels and the sequels suck compared to the first, or you are saying the new company actually made changes to the first game, and now it's not as good anymore.

They actually changed the game completely, to make it more commercial (i.e. quicker to win), however to do so they removed very VERY important elements from the game...

Totally agreed! R/S/E I only managed to play until I beat everyone, while the games up to Crystal I only stopped playing when I filled the poxedex.

Look up the Morrowind Graphics Extender. Brings up to Oblivion graphics (almost).

Anyway, my favourite would be Chrono Cross. It's the sequel to Chrono Trigger and it was for the PS1. You can download an emulator and the ISO for it for free.

ePSXE1.7 is what I use.

fallout 3 is the best i'd say but thats the only rpg i've ever played unless you include dead rising but thats not really an RPG. Anyhow i hate jrpgs mainly becuase i hate japan damn fascists.

I never played that one, but I have paper mario for the N64 and it's really good.

Yeah, I've got both chrono trigger and super mario RPG, they're amazing, but I don't have earthbound, nor do I have any final fantasys ):
