That sounds a little far fetched to me. I will believe when I see it. It just sounds like a really scary threat to get people to stop doing it. But, if it turns out to actually happen, that's a bit insane. You cheat in one game, and it directly affects your other games? That would piss me off if I was a developer on another game. What if it cost me sales?

If this is done, this should be something that Microsoft does across ALL games, not just focusing on the Gears 2 cheaters.

I've been refurbished and reissued, prepackaged and precooked, decontaminated and deloused, but I still smell, sound, look and feel like shit.

* The player's gamerscore will be reset to zero.
* The player will be unable to earn or recover gamerscore from any previous games-all games, not just Gears 2.
* The account involved will be branded on Xbox LIVE as belonging to a cheater. This information will be reflected in the gamer profile, both on Xbox.com and in the Xbox Dashboard on the console.

Good. There's no good reason to ever cheat in a multiplayer game, unless you're just playing privately with your friends.

I think it's a great idea. If you can't play the game fairly you don't deserve to play at all and should be named and shamed. Maybe people will learn not to ruin other peoples entertainment for the sake of a digital score. Cheaters are pathetic and ruin a brilliant form of entertainment for others.

Waaah I don't get any gamerscore to show off! Who cares? If you cheat, your Xbox should not be able to access anything online period.

They do it on a lot of games. Bungie every so often brings out their "ban hammer" does all of that, and bans the account forever. Infinity Ward just recently said that cheaters on CoD4 days are numbered so they are planing to do something along the lines.

Cheaters on XBL get fucked.

Well, in that case, this is cause for celebration!

I think it is a good idea. If you cheat on some game over the internet, then that is pretty sad. Even up the playing field and stop being such an ass.

Very nice to hear. It's only been recently that I've heard about people being able to really cheat in COD4. Not just glitching outside the map but floating in the air, with unlimited health and ammo.

They already have been doing the gamerscore corrections for a while now.

Personally, I don't play GoW2 Multiplayer, but I'd love to know what they define as cheating. Is cheating modding the game/console in a way that gives you an advantage over other players, or is it also abusing glitches that they have been too lazy to fix, every player can use, and is as much a part of the game as any other in-game action? Or is it just people cheating to get achievements (gamerscore is useless, so who cares amirite?)

I need these questions answered to know if I should respect Epic's course of action or laugh at it.

I played Brawl competitively. Message me if you ever want to play online (casual or competitive style)!
... I'd rather play you in SFIV or BlazBlue though.

Don't cheat. End of story.

There is no such thing as someone who doesn't like the PS3, there is only poor people who can't afford one. PS3 owners pity you and hope you can one day get out of poverty.

good and all, but if someone reports you as being a cheater, the penalty is way high. I already see entire clubs of people gathering just to report someone for being a cheater altough he isnt...
so it might be a really bad idea (also because some people already think your cheating when you headshot them with a sniper rifle)
but anyway, I cant afford gold so it doesnt matter...

If they are going to bring out such a steep penalty system I'm sure they will rectify this sort of thing somehow.

Valve has somewhat the same thing going. If you cheat on one server you get a global ban.

It just reinforces the fact that you shouldn't cheat in the first place. That 50 kill streak in that one match would never be worth such a harsh punishment, and without even having to enforce it the amount of cheaters will go down a lot.

There are really no more glitches in gow2 anymore. The only glitches left, are the rank up glitch, and the pavilion; jump over shield into door glitch
