Why would they be allowed to do something like that?

actually i dont think they are, im pretty sure its against the law to search someone(in any way) without either, permission from the person your searching, or getting a warrant for it

Seriously, who even reads these things anymore?

Isn't it illegal to strip search someone without a warrant? And besides, all she had was some headache medicine. I really think they were just using that as an excuse to see one of their students naked.

I agree.
At my school, you're not allowed to carry any medicine, not even vitamins. If that catch you, you can get sent to an alternate school.

The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false. O_o PARADOX!

You think that's bad? In my school you're not allowed to possess COUGH DROPS.

Last year, I was tired and was walking with a teacher. I bumped into the wall while rubbing my eyes, half asleep. They thought I was under the influence. I had to empty my pockets, my shoes, my locker, and my backpack. Of fucking course, there was a loose antibiotic pill sitting at the bottom. Since before I was using it to bring my shit over a friend's house. I had a mouth/throat infection at the time.

I got suspended for 5 days, and a drug test. I remember when I got to the place, this guy said "Follow me to my office" and we walk into the bathroom. Had to piss in a cup with a dude watching to make sure I didn't put somebody else's piss in it. Seriously. Awkward as shit....

Ohoho, aren't I witty?

Thank God none of my teachers are peadophiles.

I mean, come on, is drug crime so bad you have to strip search a child for common medicine?

The only problem I see here is that they didn't find anything, if they had found something the story would've been completely different.

If a 13 year old boy was strip searched by the male nurse in his school and a male secretary would that be OK too? A 13 to 16 year old girl tends to be a lot more self conscious of her body than nearly any other person.

Not only did they have no right to do this but what they were doing it for was ridiculous.

A weapon or explosive I could understand, but over the counter pain killers???

They never found any drugs."

Wow... Just... Wow.

They did it in the most professional way possible. Besides she was caught with pills, you expect them to just say "well she has nothing else on her she's free to go". You just don't know how far people will go...

If a 13 year old boy was caught with pills, then yea it would be ok. Stop trying to make this sound like a sexist thing when it isn't. Now if the female nurse put on a strap on while the female secretary had some kind of corsete on without underwear and they handed the girl over I'd see where it's wrong. She was caught with pills and even teens have been known to put them in places like that.

The cough drop guy though... damn you have a strict school

But it would be considered far worse if a male secretary was involved with stripping a 13 year old boy. Men near naked children will always be considered more suspicious than women near naked children. The world is sexist no matter what. I'm not making it that way.

When it comes down to it, they had no right to strip search a student without the parents' consent.

Now if the female nurse put on a strap on while the female secretary had some kind of corsete on without underwear and they handed the girl over I'd see where it's wrong. She was caught with pills and even teens have been known to put them in places like that.

You do know that it was Ibrupofen. It's as hard to get your hands on as cough drops. You can kill yourself if you overdose on it, but you can also kill yourself with a tie or a pencil.

In Ireland schools won't give tablets (paracetamol, ibrupofen, etc) to students, mainly by their own choice because it's their ass in legal trouble if something happens, but it's perfectly OK for a student to bring ibrpofen to school.
