Hundreds of thousands of deaths each year due to car accidents, millions due to smoking, but everyone is panicking because some baby in Texas died from the flu. Everyone has their eyes on the television and Internet to find news about the flu, some even dedicate their whole day just to talk about it.

Why would people care so much about what is basically a regular flu without a vaccine, you ask?

Simple. People are bored. They don't have much excitement in their lives, now that Obama got elected and Susan Boyle is long forgotten. They need a source of entertainment to fill their empty, pathetic lives.

Or the whole fact that there are four strains of the virus, and we've only built up an immunity towards the human strain. That and health care officials have been waiting for the next big flu outbreak, and with 62 dead in Mexico and hundreds more confirmed it's scaring many people. While some may be over exaggerating their scare, this is a serious illness to many people.
