Once upon a time, girls went into this sort of thing because they were down and didn't feel they had options. Now they do it to either support drug habits or as a stepping=stone to possible fame. To be honest, no, I have never felt remorseful after enjoying a video or picture featuring a female who is the porn industry. Call it heartlessness, ignorance, or whatever you want, but I am not actively contributing to the problem and supplementing their habit finacially, therefore no harm done on my part. I have never purchased pornographic content, and likely never will, such action is completely unnecessary in the age of the internet.

What I am malcontent with is societies view of these actors once they leave the industry. If, say, a teacher turns out to be a former porn star, it makes the news. It really should not, there is no reason they need to explain the implied reasoning such as the fact that it is behind them. Just leave them alone.

Honestly, I don't think they feel any worse than most people do in their jobs. You can be an unhappy plumber, unhappy accountant, unhappy office worker, unhappy lawyer, unhappy businessman just as much as you can be an unhappy porn star. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that porn stars are coerced into their roles. I don't think that's the case so much these days thankfully, but it certainly has happened before.

I think it's quite sad that these women are being referred to as sluts because they feature in pornographic movies. We don't know their reasons for being in these films. Heck, I'd hazard a guess that some of them are screwed up and see it as a form of release, or as has been previously stated, need to fund their crystal meth habit (ie Tiana Lynn).
