It's in the livingroom, under Mum's orders, while my PC sits in my bedroom. I have another bedroom between me and the room and one of the walls covers a cavity, so essentially there's two walls in one.

That's four walls all together.

Before anyone mentions using a router in my own room, the nearest telephone socket IS in the livingroom. So I can't even run a normal cable unless its like 40+m long and we rip up the carpets to tuck it in under.

Have you seen these?

They basically run the Internet through your existing power lines. You plug one in to wall next to where the Internet resides (just connect an Ethernet cable from one of your router's spare ports to the Homeplug). Then, plug the other Homeplug in your room, connect the Ethernet cable to it, the other end to the Ethernet port into your laptop/desktop and VIOLA. INTERNETS.

You get a solid connection and no wireless drops.

Not bad at all for £32. Cheaper than a new router.

Well, I was going to suggest a signal booster for your router - it's either a new aerial for the router, or an adaptor that you plug between the aerial and router. We have this situation in the office, but could probably use a new router, in all honesty.

There not guaranteed to work in every socket. They only work in certain sockets in our house. That said it is:

This is WAY early, but i have to submit the weekend I am having London Meet 2010 in by Thursday so that it can be included in the 2010 ng calendar, I imagine the dates for reading and leeds festivals arent yet available (or maybe they are) but is there particular weekends in august i should AVOID?

I'm thinking i'll probably do it the first weekend of august again. So like August 7th-ish.

Sorry I hate to bump this topic back up but im not ready to make a new one yet. 2010 is so far from my mind right now.

I'd also like to know the date it'll go on so I can make up a suitable excuse in time.

reading/leeds is ALWAYS the august bank holiday, running from the wednesday beforehand, to the monday. which i assume looking at calendar is 25th aug to 30th aug next year

I avoid them cause people dont like to have the task of having to pick wether to goto this event or the music festivals. Its done out of common courtesy really.

I'll make a thread next year. I needed to submit that date for the calendar so thats what it is.

Other meetups include Montreal on June 5th, and Amsterdam on March 13, and thats all i know of for now.

So after a few hours of being on the phone with Virgin Atlantic, i will lose a ton of frequent flyer miles if i dont use them by the end of the year. I've been flying with United for awhile, and i forgot i had flown a bunch of people on Virgin back in january.
