Pico Day Preloader

Ok I HOPE I got this working correctly, let me know if something isn't working right.

MindChamber has put together some neato art for this year's Pico Day loading screen!

Download the FLA and try it out for yourself! You'll want to align this movie clip towards the bottom right of your workspace - it's meant to fill the screen whether your submission is 550x400 or 800x600. Smaller submissions will just see Pico though.

There is a box that can be left alone, OR you can run a Flash Ad and make money! You can replace the preloader layer completely with a Flash Ad loading box, or you can edit your Flash Ad to just put the ad itself in the existing box, keeping the aesthetic of the Pico Day preloader bar and box frame. Just contact me if that doesn't make sense I guess.

This file will work with AS1 or AS2. Is anyone doing an AS3 Pico Day submission? If so, let me know if you need us to whip up an AS3 version, or if you can fix that up yourself.

Pico Day is April 30th! Please don't submit your Pico Day project before then!

Bottom right? Surely you mean top left as that's (0,0). Symbols (i.e. MCs) should always be aligned to the top left, Tom. (0,0) is a constant, (stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight) is not.

Also the lack of AS3 preloader makes me sad. NG should do more to promote the latest version of AS.

MindChamber, the art looks awesome. I do personally like the animated ones better. The overly animated ones get a bit annoying during Pico Day (like last year), but at least an animated play button would've been nice. Either way, looks pretty cool! Good luck to everyone submitting.

All the PRELOADERS are available in AS3 format... All you need to do is swap out the graphics with the Pico Day ones. Instead you assume no one will use AS3. NG should be up to date and note two years behind...

I hate when people submit the day before to try and snag trophies.
Especially a couple years ago Pico Day was a Wednesday, so people submitting a day early got an unfair chance at daily and weekly awards for the end of that week before the real competition began!!
