This is something that's always irked me.

Why don't people use proper english when they're typing on the internet? And I don't just mean using u instead of you or that type of thing. I know that's just because people are lazy.

I'm talking about the people who don't even use proper grammar.

Example:
i went to the store tob uy sum food nd then i saw my friend and i was like hi and he was like hi. and so then we went and we play video games like mgs4 and we had fun and looked at porn and stuff yeah.

Like, that's not even laziness and that's definitely not just lack of proofreading. How hard is it to use punctuation?

It just seems like these people go completely out of their way to try to use the worst english that they can. Why do they do this? Why? Ugh.

As you already said, people are lazy.

1) They never have learned how.
2) The laziness compounds this issue.
3) They think it's cool (see others doing it, mimicking, etc.)
4) Mockery.

Well I believe there are some reasons as the followings:

1.They do not have a good english,
2.They are typing in a hurry and they do not pay attention to what they are writing
3.They are lazy

They think that its easier to type. 'Shortcuts' I guess. Or, they're in like 4th/5thgrade or something. ( Look at some of my first posts. LOL) I get agitated about it too... like people can't distinguish the difference between"your" or "you're".

People act like retards on the internet. Some people can't even form a coherent sentence, and it feels almost depressing to read some posts/comments.

I would point out the typo in the thread title, but I'm not gonna be an asshole. Everyone makes mistakes.

You know what's worse? The people who take tiny grammar mistakes and fucking blow them out of proportion. Thus ignoring the entire point of the thread and causing an unwed teenage mother to begin doing crack, ultimately destroying newgrounds as we know it.

What makes it worse is when the idiots that type the way they do, accuse others of being posh or rich or whatever just because we type a lot more coherently. Now, I know I'm not perfect when it comes to language, but it's really not difficult to spell a few words correctly. Anyone who considers that to be a hard task should put a bullet in their head.

Not everyone has the same priorities. Some people simply feel that they don't need to tailor their communication to fit others' expectations of diction, concision, grammar, vocabulary, readability, and so on.

I dunno. I used to resent all that sorta shit so much more. Now-a-days, if they can't be fucked to express themselves appreciably to the point where it affects my ability to comprehend what they're communicating, I don't even waste my time attempting to understand.

It does strike me more and more every time I see someone lambasting someone else for a conscious decision to do things in their own way that I resent the conceit. People just are, yo. They're gonna live it their way just the same as you're gonna live it yours. No sense getting yourself worked up about it, they obviously aren't.

Some people don't actually care all that much about their spelling and their syntax, so they don't really care to edit or put much time into forming their sentences. These tend to be people who don't type that much, so they never really feel the social pressure to type better.

This is generally the case with people who are younger and who haven't been yelled at enough for not typing/writing well.

As annoying as these people are, they're merely doing this to either validate themselves, to try to appear cool, or because they fail to notice that nobody actually cares about what they have to say about the person's typo. They'll eventually figure out how ridiculous their actions are and stop it.

I honestly don't see the point. Even if it was just lack of knowledge just get fucking spell check or something and I think its just because people are lazy or they just type that way "because they can".

Because this is the internet, nobody's being graded.

People are stupid and lazy, bottom line. Now they may use excuses like "English isn't my first language" or "I'm dyslexic" but all that means is they're too lazy to learn any better.

Comes with a site with 13 year olds as the average users. They type as fast as they can while looking at the keyboard and click "post" as soon as possible because what they have to say is very very important. Seriously, the food fight some 11 year old scottish kid had in the cafeteria is much more important than spellchecking.

Yes, I noticed this a while ago, but why hasn't anyone else pointed out that the guy ranting about bad spelling/grammar spelled the word "english" wrong?
