New Green Day song.

Oh, and can people who just hate Green Day not bother, because we don't care.

Anyhow, in all honesty, I think it sounds alright. Not brilliant, but it sounds good enough for me to have faith that the album will be worth me buying.

I swear the lead singer's voice has gotten higher and higher pitch the longer the band goes on.

He'll never get as high pitch as Rob Halford though.

It feels to me as if they took a step back with this song. It doesn't have the depth as American Idiot and it reminds me for of their Warning album. Both are great albums... but I don't hear anything that makes me want to pick up the album. I dunno, I like it but I don't kinda thing...

I was thinking this all through the song. Maybe they're going for that, or maybe they're trying for a miup of all the different albums? Now THAT I would like to see.

Nice, I saw it on iTunes a while ago, but I havent bought it yet, since its jsut a single. ill probably buy it if they release it with an album, but it sounds a bit like most of their other songs, althoguh I do like it a bit. I havent listened to a greenday song for about a year now though, lol

Agreed. They've been a professional band for over 20 years and they've yet to improve upon their skill. They're playing the same generic shit in their 40s that they started playing in their 20s... it's almost shameful.

Makes me wonder if they even like playing their instruments, or if it's just something they do to make money.

I was a fan of Green Day 'way back' when they released Kerplunk and covered Operation Ivy songs. They had long gone the route of complete suck before American Idiot was released.

I'd consider Dookie their last good album. It was all down hill after that. And if I'm not mistaken, Dookie followed Kerplunk in release order, meaning they made 2, may 3 good albums counting the rerelease of two previous demos on one album (39 smooth happy slappy hours... or whatever it was called).

There where a couple of really good songs off that album. Shame they couldn't keep that type of drive going. Paper Lanterns is still a fav of mine.

I agree. The second half of the song is much better. Lyrics leave a lot to be desired. But it sounds more like greenday and not that other boulevard stuff.
