All the wind should be blowing in the same direction, and assuming those triangles are mountains, you can drop the blue line around the shadows.
And blending and shading always helps ;)

are you using photoshop, or more likely MS Paint?
If you're using paint you need to just play with the colors and use various shades next to each other to create your own gradient, or just stick to keeping it blocky.
If it's photoshoppe than you can play with opacity and such, but i don't know much about that.
