I do a little weed once in a while with friends. I've never bought weed myself, but I've used it. The last time I actually smoked was October, but I've been high twice since then via baked goodies. During the school year, I probably got high 4 or 5 times over the course of 8 or 9 months, but all of those times occurred within a couple weeks of each other, so it was basically 4 or 5 times over two or three months, then no highs at all the rest of the time.

I waited until I graduated from high school to drink/smoke. I was sober all the way until summer after senior year, which isn't too bad considering some other kids.

I chose to try weed because I was curious, and I wanted to see things through an induced perspective that I couldn't otherwise obtain. I wanted to see what so many people talk about and why they like it, so I gave it a shot, and I quite liked it. But, since it is illegal, I curb my consumption quite a bit.

Not all drugs are harmful or addictive. If they're not harmful or addictive, yet they feel good, then why not do it once in a while? It's just another recreational activity.

Well, it's true. Heroin, crack, cocaine, and meth are pretty fucked up. Smoking is bad too, but not too extreme.

Drugs are awesome, that's why. But only if you use them responsibly and chose the right drugs.

everyone learn from my mistakes, I started smoking pot right after 8th grade, (although I first tried it in 6th). my freshman year I got really into the Grateful Dead and the jam band scene, and started to eat a lot of LSD and mushrooms, smoke weed, hashish, and I tried a little coke. I also then first tried DMT, and salvia, and whip its and medical grade nitrous. My junior year in high school I was a full blow coke addict, but was back to just basically a pot head during my senior year. I tried adderall and didnt like it my freshman year too, but throughout highschool I progressed from vicoden, to percoset, to morphine pills, to oxycontin and fetanyl pops and patches. after i graduated high school I got kicked out of my house, and started sniffing bags of dope. last october I was arrested with 40 bags, and spent the night in jail. two days after I got out of jail I switched to a needle, and a week later I was in rehab. Since then I have been to rehab twice, to three different detoxes, and been arrested on underage drinking charges for which I also had to sit in jail (not really just a holding cell). Other drugs I have tried would be a lot of molly, ecstasy, and ketamine (which is like the best shit ever, it is like psychedelic heroin, thank god I dont have access to it.) I am still an addict in recovery, and I often wonder what my life would have been like if I never started smoking weed, although I still dont believe weed is a gateway drug, it was my choice to progress to harder shit, and had nothing to do with weed. I am not proud that I have done just about every drug concievable, although I do advocate experimentation. My life was better and I felt enlightened after the first time I ate LSD, and I think that smoking weed is great (although I can no longer partake because of my probation) Everything can be fine in moderation, and there is a time and a place for everything. Always know your mind, your drug, and your source, and you will be fine. Just dont wind up like me (although I am doing just fine, I will be in college for chemical engineering in the fall, I have a great girlfriend, a great job, an apartment, I am lucky that I got out of the game before it was too late. But let my story be an example to people that things can spiral out of control and you can be sitting in a cell wondering "how did this happen?" before you know it

Wow that's a pretty crazy journey man. But I'm glad that you realize doing harder drugs was your responsibility and not because of some stupid "gateway drug" theory. moderation is definitely the key, which is why it's probably not advisable to try harder, more addictive drugs as they hamper your ability to do the drug in moderation.

This is a very difficult question to answer, as everyone has their own motives. Basically, most people start for the experience. They try again because they think it will help fill a part of their life that is empty and make them feel different and better. They continue out of habit.

Cause it keeps me happy & sane.

Because we want to look cool.

It ain't that hot when you take it in moderation, but still trips your shit, simply put the cardboard in your mouth for an hour or so, making sure you don't fingerprint them and waste it to body oil. Then, all of a sudden, it blends in and you go "Whoa!". Then, I want you to put on your i-Pod the darkest, gruesome music ever [I highly recommend psytrance] and sit down. Remember, your body still needs sustenance, so don't you ever go do this without pals unless you know what you're doing yourself. Excess of acid needs to be tested, but nontheless still retain my I.Q. of me graduating highschool at 15.

Anyhow, booze is a pure man's taste, as it'll drive the pussies away and bring the beast [or whiny bitch] in everyone. Just don't turn 4/20 at the Parliament Hill smoking pot turning that into a boozefest, you're fucking sure to have trouble. That's right, stoners never attack first. They come chill, eat, play video games, enjoy music for its hidden vibes that tickles the brain as you feel numb and nice. What you get for that night? Whoa, light hangover, but everything feels... good.

P.S. I've watched The Dark Knight on acid and booze, whoaaaaaa! Then had to get a taxi with my friend to get us out of the crackhead neighborhood only to find Street Fighter machines in the open 24/7 Algonquin College, sweet!

I believe that on the other end of the scale, rich people can also get hooked on drugs. Look how many celebrities are off their faces so often for example. It's not solely a rich poor thing, it's very much an individual choice. That's why I think you can't put a finger on the most likely people to use drugs, as they're used on such a universal level.

I'd just like to point out that I don't condone the use of any drug, I think they're a waste of time and not worth the potential side effects that they bring, but at the same time I don't judge anyone for doing them if they're sensible and don't endanger others. It's when someone has no control over an addiction or takes too much that I draw the line at. I've had plenty of experience with people I know acting like complete idiots because they've taken too much that means I'm not going to be indulging in that behaviour myself!

My current excuse for drug use: Experimentation.
I got high while trying to keep a logical mindset, keeping track of in my head, the effects after a certain amount of half-lifes of the drug, and it's effects.

keep in mind, I only did this once, as I don't exactly have easy access to illicit drugs(well, I do know where to find opium poppies and cannabis growing, but not in significant amounts.)

I don't know. There are many reasons.

There's just as many arguments for it as there are against it. Both sides have legitimate points that will be ignored by the opposing side in favour of their own views on the matter.

Bottom line: people do drugs either because they enjoy them or because they're addicted to them.

There's really no point discussing this any further, so I'm going to end it now before you all murder one another with your opinions. ;P
