Google has power over a virtual market, yes, but as proven with Chrome, they're NOT good at pushing anything other than basic web services. Same with the G1 phone, which was a near total failure. People LOVE Google as a search engine, but they're hemorrhaging cash due to their extra activities currently.

There's Yahoo, MSN, Ask Jeeves, Amazon search... There's a lot more ways to search for things on the internet than just Google.

Google is losing around $1.6 million to keep youtube.

Even google can't keep up with losses like that. Maybe they'll find a way to lower the bandwidth (they always seem to find a way to do anything), but they're still not almighty.

If they lose youtube they'll only have google.com, google chrome, google maps, google earth, gmail... alright they're huge.

I guess that's pretty probably. Thankfully, we can still use other ones, too. But seeing as the service is free, unless it was some seriously diabolical conspiracy, I doubt they would care.
