Damnit Harmonix, first you announce Rock Band Unplugged and now this? Seriously, what's going on with you guys right now? Not even The Final Countdown can save this game...

Meh, both game series are okay. Nothing spectacular, but they'd have to try really hard to mess the game up beyond playability. I personally think it'd be cool to play some tunes like "Zack, Zack, The Lego Maniac" on the game. =D

Who said that they're not working on Rock Band 3. I'm sure they are it's just something that's going in the cooker for a long time because they want the next edition to be something new. Announcing Rock Band 3 and saying "Hey, here's the two slight adjustment to the gameplay for this year's edition." would have been getting a cheap buck. This is something else that's geared to a different audience than the regular Rock Band crowd. Is the goal of it to get money? \Yeah that's business. It doesn't mean they've just said "fuck it" to Rock Band 3.

This is what MrSimon actually told me at the Newgrounds meetup and that was back in February, but wow it's still a shock haha. Well I guess with franchises like Rock Band and Guitar Hero they have to milk the cash cow as much as they can before it dries out.

Actually the Track Packs (besides AC/DC) are just songs released on the XBL Marketplace and Playstation Store that are available to people who don't have Xbox Live/Playstation Network. The original intent was to provide the downloadable songs to PS2/Wii owners.

As for Unplugged it's mostly recycled material with the exception of the 9 Exclusive* Songs.
* Exclusive meaning it will be on the PSP version for a bit and then available on the Rock Band Store.

Also Lego Rock Band has finally given us Blur's Song 2.

It's a personal joke on the forums, he's actually one of the big cat names of the entire game series all the way from Guitar Hero 1. Doesn't take an expert to look around the Rock Band forum to see other posts he's made or even Wikipedia to find his name.
