I give helpful and serious advice when people ask for an outside opinion. But then they never listen to it or I get mocked... I don't think that people who ask for advice really want any advice at all!

You're just now realizing this, I don't think anyone's actually stupid/desperate enough to go to NG for serious advice, the advice topics are just a cease pool of hilarity. As you get older you'll realize there's nothing more entertaining than someone being insulted, ridiculed, and/or told to commit suicide while in need of help.
Plus it's a good way to kill time.

Some people are actually good around here and take the question seriously but others do not unfortunately. But the reason why is that some people consider us their only companion and have nobody else to turn to in times of need.

The only reason most people ask for advice on the internet is to get e-hugs and to validate their feelings.
Now why anyone would ask for advice on a site like this beyond me. I'm mean, from what I've seen on these forums majority of users are underage boys who do drugs and can barely type let alone formulate anything even remotely close to actual life advice.
