Did you try running the game in compatibility mode?

I am trying to get 3 other Newgrounds members for a PC only L4D meet.

If you can, please send a Steam invite to SniperWolfNG, and keep this guideline in mind:

You must be at least 15 to play with me.

Bro, I did EVERYTHING to try to get it to work.

Now I had this issue like five months ago I think, and I've reverted back to Vista for like 5 months now with great satisfaction at how well Vista's working.

Compatibility mode, Punkbuster reinstallation, disk fragmentation, MD5 and MDS file replacing, etc.

It's simply doesn't work for Windows 7, and a Punkbuster Tech Support guy emailed me to not use Windows 7.

Until older games like Battlefield 2 and Project Reality is proven to work on Windows 7, I think I'm going to stray from it.

Windows 7 is still too new for gaming... It took Vista 2 service packs in order to get a majority of online mmos to work with it.... PC games as well.

Just give windows 7 some time to update, and for online mmos to catch up =)

I know Trickster Online has been out for a long time, and still can't run with Vista, so read the requirements for the game you want to play and wait for the game to be compatible with the OS your using...

I play 50 games online, all compatible with Vista... when Vista 1st came out, only like 20 of those games would have worked....

Bottom line... it takes time. =)

Its a tough life, But it's life.

With my current outbreak of studies, careers, and tom foolery. I have had basically no time whatsoever to do any gaming at all. Apart from the occasional screw around on my 360, Or giving my dog a sympathy kick of the football for a completed 43 seconds.

So, My memory on this laptop is full to the brim with my remaining music files, and a whole lot of work. Heck, The only computer gaming I've been doing this past 6months has been Newgrounds flash games.

So, Guys, With my occasional 10 minutes daily of spare time, What game should I buy? Preferably something that isn't so addicting and amazing that I won't ever do any homework, But just something I can pop in and out of between whatever it is occupying me. Kind of like a Grand Theft Auto style game. I know, unusual request.

Well, I'm an unusual guy.

Hey, I've just recently gotten into gaming upon discovering that my PC can play games fairly well. So far I've got:

HL2 + Episodes
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Demigod
Morrowind
STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl
Trine
The Witcher
BioShock

Some of those I've played on consoles too. My steam ID is BlackFlameNG. Please add.

No. This is the Video Games forum. Just like in all forums, people have things that are large and related to that particular forum put into one Thread, So its easier for everyone to discuss, ask questions, bitch, etc. without a new 1-reply thread every 5 minutes.

Also, The one in C&C is basically extinct.

Halo CE

Morrowind

Diablo

Gmod stand alone

Fallout 1 and 2

AoE 2

Starcraft

Sims 2.

Yeah recently I've been a Microsoft Elitest (PC included) and I pretty much hate Sony.

If you haven't already, Post your Steam ID's and we'll be able to join up online more frequently. So if you post in here, or play any of the games listed, Then post your Steam ID. Once I come back after a few hours, I'll finally have a Lounge update.

Give me something to work with :)

Okay, So here's the first of The Computer Gamers Lounge Update.

Below is a small list of the regulars to this lounge who have shared there Steam ID's with the group. By doing so, They are able to more reliably have teams made, and have people join them on certain games when requested. So why not drop yours in!?

User Name. | Steam User. | Games.

SniperWolf1564. | SniperWolfNG. | Variety.*
LilCheeseLad. | LilCheeseLad. | Variety.*
ParadoxVoid. | ParadoxVoid. | Variety.*
09er. | NoodleHead. | Team Fortress Two.
Black-Flame. | BlackFlameNG. | Variety.*

As you can see, We currently don't have too many Newgrounders actually posting there Steam ID's so other gamers can play online with them and become connected. When you post your games, or just a general post, Be sure to put your Steam ID in. I mean, Most gamers have one.

For a larger look at the Newgrounds community on steam, be sure to check out theNewgrounds Steam Community. This way you can stay connected with people you have an extremely minor connection with :)
* When variety is listed as the games for certain users, This basically means a large network of games are frequently played by said members. A majority of the time, These games include the most popular online games. Such as; Halo Series, Team Fortress, Half Life, etc. If you want to know specifically what games certain users play, Ask.

That's it.

I wouldn't have a clue. Your best bet in this would likely be mentioning something in the 'Computer Construction Crew'. Or sending a PM to SniperWolf. Both of which seem pretty reliable when it comes to technical errors on computers, etc.

Also, Quick Question.

What would be the best game to buy, Regardless of price, That isn't going to take up huge amounts of my hard drive. I currently don't have a heap left, And want to play something new, But without having to spend that money + money on a new external drive.

Also, I don't mean 5MB games like frogger and whatever else I could just get off Newgrounds, I want something that goes online, and so on. Any ideas?

(Sorry for double post also).

(Sorry For Triple Post)

I just figured this would be something a large majority of the people who post in this thread would be interesting in. Basically its in the clubs and crews forums, and its just for steam users to chit chat about computer games, steam, etc.

Once again, Sorry for the triple post, But most of you guys play steam, So I'd figured I'd just tell you's and get it over with.

Newgrounds Steam Lounge.

Thats it from me.

I'd suggest getting Trine. It's a great 2D side-scrolling platformer. And it's only like 500-600 MBs. Lot of fun. You can buy it off Steam for $30.

what's with all the fucking issues with PC bioshock?

Have you tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling it (you can probably get the newest version from the ATI website)? That might help, and it's all I can really think of without more info.
