Why is everyone so depressed?

Is it Spring? Does the lack of cold weather relieve you of an excuse to go outside? Every day i see more and more threads popping up with people telling woeful tales of their failed love lives, or how their cat has died or something. And all that goes without mention the plethoric amount of thread full of people talking about the already dying emo culture.

Lighten up a little, if you are depressed, sad or some other negative emotion, then please stop preaching it and get off my general unless you have something at least somewhat positive to spread.

I'm usually like that, but I don't post about it on General.

I'm thinking it's because of the age of the majority of users. While most people have their own variations in personality, they can't escape being teenagers. Hormones and such leads to craziness, moodiness.

I beg to differ, my life is pretty much fine right about now (besides an essay I have to write) and I still visit NG (obviously). My mood has nothing to do with my habits really, except that Im a bit lazier when sad, which isn't very often. And I'm pretty sure that quite a lot of NGers will find that there are things in their lives that they wish they could get away from, but in general, I think most people here are content with their lives.

Or maybe I'm just being optomistic and a bit naive...

I ain't depressed-- not only has there been a big thunderstorm around where I live-- I've also just had an entire pack of Fruit Stripe Gum (believe it or not, that's still being produced).

If it's anything, the rain calms me down-- it looks fucking beautiful outside when it's raining.
