Sure you all have this happened to you one way or another, where the flood turned into hot lava and you will die if even your toe touches it. But yet the furniture doesn't melt a single bit, you can only climb the furniture to get what you want.
And how will you get some water?
First i'd get on my chair, get on the table, then my bed, and then I will reach for the door to open it. And then, I will jump on the dining chair of death. Then I will open the fridge and get my icy water. Then suddenly the curse of the lava floor is lifted.
You know what would be really neat? These things actually being noticeable.

I used to be able to make it all the way along the upstairs corridor without touching the ground, I'd just press my legs against each wall and walk using hands and feet along the wall. But I think I'm too big for it now...
Due to the incredibly reduced amount of crap in our house now, it would actually be really hard to get around without touching the floor...

I used to pretend that the grout lines between the tiles were made of lava, and step only in the middle of the tiles. I still do this sometimes.

I'd close my eyes and fumble blindly to the kitchen. If I can't see the lava, the lava can't see me, so we are non-existent to one another.

Now I can't stop picturing a grown man tiptoeing around his kitchen with his tongue sticking out in concentration.
I'm not surprised though. It is Rig, after all.

Bookcases can be quiet handy as ladders...
Which brings me to why I'm no longer allowed to go to any furniture store.

I don't think this has happened to me before. I also don't think the flood can turn into lava.

I'd jump up on my chair, onto the grand piano, open the door and walk around outside to get the hose.
You only said the floor....

I used to have cork tiles at my old home. Not so easy to see where tiles end or begin, but I liked to walk in a "knight" pattern. That is, two up, one across, or two across, one up.
Oh yeah, and "the floor is lava" is the greatest game in the history of childhood imagination.

When I used to play these games I just lined some chairs up and used them as a bridge, and when the bridge wasn't long enough I'd use the chairs behind me that were useless otherwise.

I'd grab the bottle of water next to me.
But that's no fun. So I'd go on my swivel chair to the stairs, climb on the handrail, slide down, climb back up because I've discovered I can't get to the water, grab my chair in one hand, slide back down, put it on the ground, sit on it and ride to the water. Going back is a bit more of a pain.

You must set a goal for you to make, it must be out of reach.
Once you have the object you were supposed to get, the floor will turn back to norma.

Sometimes I play the game with my little sis', kind of fun even for a teenager.
Though if this would happen for real, I would use my sis' as a boat and my biology books as something to direct the boat with.
I create music from time to time, you should check it out. Or not. No pressure.

Ah I do recall this game, good times ;D Sadly even Seth McFarling has made a crack on this old game, so it must be common knowledge; if not before then, by now for sure :P

i used to do this as a child... i used the pillows as rocks and use to jump from one to another... anway... i would kick of the side of the wall to move backwards and use the door to aid me around the coner... then i would kick the chair down the stairs while sitting on the bannister... now comes the tricky part... i will climb down the bannister/handrail untill i get to the collaped chair... and use it as a steping stone to get to the other banister, i will then use the chair once more to act as a moving plac-form and glide into the living room, here i jump of dramaticly... scaring my girlfriend half to death in the process... i then climb through the tiny hatch in the wall and land on the very unstable wine-rack... i then carefully mount the bin and get onto the worktop... using the cubords to hold to which are hanging on the wall to stop me falling backwards into the lava... and i get to the sink... just to find out the water is all dried up... i then let out a sigh and go back along the worktop and lean over the lava (DRAMATIC!) and grab the fridge handel and press the water button to spray water on the floor... at this point my girlfriend walks in and tells me off for making a mess and waking her up...ciao

So, if the floor was lava, wouldn't that mean that the swivel chair im sitting on right now melt under me before i can get a hold of anything or jump off?
I have no choice if i were to go and get water, id have to melt my legs to stumps before i can stand on anything.
