I don't know about the states, but in Canada, Security officers CANNOT detain without arrest. The arrest has to follow some strict criteria here, as well.

Sorry, how is this an honest mistake? You get detained, made to look like a criminal and they actually accused you of using a fake ID to buy glue to sniff. I don't see anywhere that it was an honest mistake.

The thing is, it's the times lawsuits are justified that they fail. My grandparents' house was burnt down during renovation due to a careless accident. My grandmother was in the house at the time, and countless memories and sentimental items were lost in the fire. Homeowner's insurance only paid out half of what was needed to rebuild the house, we hoped for the lawsuit to cover at least the rest of it.

In the end, the lawsuit was dismissed, and it took them a couple of months to dismiss a lean the contractor had put on the house, for not paying for the MALPRACTICE that burnt down the house in the first place.

What type of glue was it?
The only 3 i know of you could get high off of is Testors model cement , spray adhesive, and rubber cement. If it was a glue stick or white glue there's some big time dumbasses at that mall.

Yes, shops have restrictions on a lot of products. It's really not for moral reasons, it's more like, if a shop sells some glue to a kid and the kid uses it to get high, the police are going to ask him where he got it and the kid will immediately name the shop he/she got it from. If companies restrict any product that's remotely dangerous it basically covers them from any blame for anything an idiot does with one of their products.

You all know what parents these days are like; they'd rather blame the big corporations for their child's mistake rather than take some responsibility themselves.

That just shows you how bad security is these days. They can't catch the painfully obvious culprits with fake IDs, but they snag a real 18 year old and they think they're doing a great job. It's sort of funny, but kind of harsh of your friends. They certainly wouldn't be laughing if it happened to one of them. I'm sorry to hear about that, bro.
