Wow, well SE certainly now how to make an impression. Though it's hard to judge the visuals from a YouTube video or a stream it certainly looked good, just had to ignore the fanboys arguing in the comments that they'd been toned down for the Xbox 360, ugh.

What I really loved though, apart from the adorable baby chocobo, was the musical pieces in it. The battle music sounded catchy and something I can see myself growing to love. The boss battle music too, at least that's what I think it was, was also great. I've got high hopes on the musical side for this game, especially since that's been a big factor in the rest of the FF games.

The Versus music sounded alot better.

The XIII Boss Music was horrid and the main battle music was repetitive.

For anyone who missed it there is 20 minutes worth of gameplay. It is YouTube so it doesn't do the game justice but it is pretty good.

I can only say that it looks pretty and sounds good. I just can't really get over the disappointment I feel over the battle system.

Here are a handful of things that the demo does differently from other games in the series:

* There's no MP. That's right, use all the magic you want.
* There are no level-ups or XP.
* There are no random battles, with all enemies seen on-screen.
* Combat moves very quickly, and you can queue up to three actions at a time.
* Party members are completely AI controlled.

What's the point in not limiting players on what they can cast?
What's the point in an FF game that doesn't let you level up?

Well, not so happy about it but I'm already used to oblivion, so it's ok.

Nope, not even if they say it is.
It's an adventure game now.

So, uh, the demo is 5 GB in size. That's a little more than a standard DVD carries, so, either the 360 version is going to be compressed to hell, or this might happen:

A lot of that 5GB will be textures, audio, and the game engine, which will be memory costs that are used throughout the gameplay. So it won't be *disastrous*, I wouldn't think.

I wouldn't think that Square would uncompress everything for just a demo. People would be pissed if they noticed the sudden drop in quality between the demo and retail versions.

Hmm, can't help but feel this is just going to be FF12 all over again, but set in a futuristic setting. Well, long as the characters don't completely suck then I'm all for giving the game a try.
